Hi,
I have WP 3.1.3 with the latest version of JobManager. Everything works fine.
But when I activate WPML (the free version 2.0.4.1), JobManager doesn’t work anymore (the offers are on the page but when someone try to open the application form it fails).
If I buy the newest version of WPML, this bug will be fixed (it’s a low budget website and I need to be sure before) ?
We’ll need to work with the people who create JobManager on this. If they’re interested, we’ll be happy to create a free account for them and see if there’s anything that needs fixing.
I have belzebub2.com (Swe) and belzebub2.com/?lang=en
Im using using WordPress 3.0.4 withWPML 2.0.4
I want to redirect everyone but swedish users to /?lang=en while letting swe users stay on belzebub2.com ad having my own language selector linking to the urls working.
Can this be done without to mush effort if i upgrade ?
Yes.. So Im having problems with the free vertion to redirec since swedish is default language without the lang variation. Just wanted to make shure this works in the 29 us vertion
Iam also naturally assuming its comatible with wordpress 3.2.1
WPML is compatible with WP 2.4.1 and WP 3.3. I’m not 100% sure that I understand what you’re trying to do with this redirect. If you buy WPML and it doesn’t do what you want, we can always refund your order.
I’m building a website with WordPress and have decided to buy wpml because my site needs to be in several languages besides English. I will manually translate everything. It’s a simple site with pages and a sidebar with a few widgets. I’m not sure if WPML’s Multilingual Blog version will be adequate or do I need to buy the CMS version to be able to translate all of my site? Can you advise, please?
The Blog version doesn’t include WPML’s String Translation. It’s normally needed to translate Text Widgets and titles. You can go around it by having different Widgets per language. It’s significantly less comfortable to do, but will work. In any case, if you buy the Blog version, you can later upgrade to the CMS version.
I’m thinking of purchasing this for a project i’m working on. However I need to know if WPML will remember the language selected by a non-logged in user by the use of a cookie or other means?
WPML doesn’t use cookies to store languages. This would cause a huge issue with search engines (and users). Language information is included in the URL of every page.
We are looking at buying the multilingual CMS for our site. We notice that you support Hindin but not other Indian languages like Gujarati, Tamil etc. Is there a way to add additional languages by the user? Is this an easy process or does it require technical skill sets?
There might be compatibility issues with some themes. We do our best to make WPML as cross-compatible as possible, but sometimes, things don’t work as we expect.
If you purchase WPML, we’ll do our best to make you happy. Still, you can always get a full refund immediately.
We are interested to purchase wpml for a Thai version of our site.
1. Is Thai an available language?
2. Our Theme is by anonymous, how do we ensure compatibility?
3. We don’t have a test site available now. Have you heard from other customers if the pluggin brought their site down!?
WPML works fine with Thai and is also localized to Thai.
It’s very difficult to guarantee theme compatibility without knowing what’s in the theme. It’s good to have the theme developer available, so that if any small theme adjustment is needed, there’s someone to do it.
Plugins and themes can interact in unexpected ways. We go out of our way to guarantee compatibility and stability, but you’re running other code that we cannot tell how it will interact. We try our best to make things work together. If there’s any problem that we cannot fix, we’re also happy to provide a full refund.
We are working in our new website and we need to have spanish and english versions. We was thinking about install the spanish version in a subdomain, but after check your page, we want to use your plugin.
I’m wonder if you can confirm us that the plugin is compatible with WordPress SEO plugin, and if we are going to be able to set the options for each language.
Yes, WPML works perfectly with Yoast’s WP SEO plugin. We’re working closely together to make sure that there’s no compatibility issue. We use this plugin in all our sites and are very happy with it.
And if it does both of them , which version support it ?
and is it works with this theme http://somadesign.ca/projects/the-erudite/
Finally, is it possible upgrading account from standart version to full version and what’s the upgrading cost ?
These non-English characters are generally not a problem. WPML works with them just fine (as you’ve seen in our site). We’re running the standard and current version of WPML without any modifications.
WPML doesn’t automatically create sitemaps. There are great plugins that do that. We use the WordPress SEO plugin for SEO and sitemaps and we’re very happy with it.
Hi Amir,
Thanks for reply , but you missed one of my questions
is it works with this theme http://somadesign.ca/projects/the-erudite/
or how could i understand does it works or not ?
I want to be purchase your plugin to use with Woocommerce/ Themeforest ecommerce themes.
Will it work even in the checkout process?
Like adding to cart, viewing cart, etc?
Hi, I am launching a website integrated with a wordpress. It is more like a content manager, the posts are enlisted per request by categories, it includes some widgets such as polls, categories clouds and recent comments.
I am interested on translating my posts (sometimes they will be originally written in english and some others in spanish), pages, categories and tags so that they are available both in english and spanish but without having duplicate content. We will be translating the posts contents but I am concerned about other dynamic elements, mainly user comments on posts. wpml can handle all this issues? which version?
When you purchase WPML, you also get support and upgrades for a year. After that year, you can pay 50% of the original cost to renew the support and upgrades, per year.
Hi!
We are interested in to buy the Multilingual CMS Plugin.
But we have one doubt.
It is important for us to determine if you licensing by website (I think so…) or by web server.
In addition, does exist any volume discount?
Thanks in advance for your answer and best regards.

I mean the actual software though–can I download the software onto my computer and install it on a site and have my coworker also download a separate instance of the software on his computer so that he can install WPML on a site?
Hi Amir
I am very interested in WPML for a clients project, but can you briefly explain how WPM deals with widgets?
I have a theme already with about 16 sidebar widget areas. How does WPML deal with these?
E.g. say I have some HTML in a text widget, and that HTML includes an image that has text in English. Can WPML support using alternative HTML in that widget for a different language?
Cheers
I’ve been doing some research into the various options building a multilingual site (English + French, to start) for a national wood/forestry research client here in Canada. I’ve been using the Thesis Theme (nearly 100%) for most of the WordPress projects I’m developing these days. I’m generally quite capable with advanced stuff in WordPress (custom.php, Thesis Hooks, css, etc)
My question is, in your experience, do you have any full-CMS ($79 WPML version) clients who are using WPML in French + English AND the Thesis Theme? I’m not 100% decided is what I will finally use to do this, but a number of forms/bloggers have some pretty good things to say about you folks @ WPML! In the end, my client will be providing the French translations, and I really want to build them something that a) they can use on their own and b) a plugin tool to translate all of the underlying WPress text/string code to French and/or English, depending on which language the user chooses, say in a widget or php hook.
Is there any import / migration functionality from qTranslate available? I would love to switch to WPML, however, hesitate due to massive manual work. Or alternatively can I use both plugins in parallel and move slowly in a step by step approach? Robert
I have a blog which i use to post eng/french articles.articles are not the same.I am thinking a way to organize my content to 2 languages in this way French traffic will go to French section of the blog and english traffic PPC will go to english section of the webpage.
1-will i be able to do that with this plugin?will the search engines see the blog has 2 languages?
2-how about the links, will i be able to write /frenchpage instead of id=?120…permalinks
Yes, you can certainly do that with WPML. The French and English content will have different URLs. If, for example, English is the default language, the French will go under a virtual directory ‘fr’. All French posts will have French URLs.
thank you for your reply.
1-so what i understand is your plugin will translate from english to french and vice verso.so i just need to have one language of the blog?
2-Can i can add different articles under each language separately and the user when switches sees French version of the article and when he chooses English, english version?
WPML allows you to have untranslated content appearing in other languages. We just added it in the recent version (2.4.2). You’ll need the CMS version for this and to use the Translation Management module.
I would like to clarified, I just read on all comments the WPML can be use and installed as many computer you need after purchasing it,.
My concerned is my webdesigner asking me to purchase the plugins?, but do I’m the only one to have access to the plugins WPML, so How to l=keep the access only for my website?
There’s no real access restriction to any plugin in your site(s). We don’t limit you to the number of times you use WPML. The auto-upgrade mechanism requires a key (not limited to number of sites), and this is read-only. When you enter it to a client site, the client cannot copy and use it on other sites.
Hi Amir,
I am bit confused which package do i choose, Multilingual Blog package vs CMS?
I will make my blogs Eng/French.Instead of installing 2 wordpress I will use your package to make the site bilingual (Eng/French or English/Armenian).
the post might not be the same translation but will have 10 English posts and 10 french posts.

Hi,
I really need an answer to finish this website.
Does anybody know something about this problem ?
Is it fixed with the full version ?
Thank you in advance

WPML now includes a function for redirect according to browser language. Is this what you’re looking for?
Yes.. So Im having problems with the free vertion to redirec since swedish is default language without the lang variation. Just wanted to make shure this works in the 29 us vertion

Hello,
Is WPML compatible with the new version of Headway themes (Headway 3.0)?
Thanks!
I think that there’s an issue with Headway Leafs, which we need to review. We have Headway 3 and we’ll be working on it soon.

Yes. You can add custom languages yourself. Go to WPML->Edit languages to enter them.

WPML will separate comments to their right language. It dones’t mix comments in different lanuages.
Are The updates in the futur free for WPML.

Once you purchase, you can use WPML on as many sites in as many servers as you need.
I am buying this license for my company. Can the program be installed on multiple computers?
Yes. You can install WPML on as many sites and servers as you like.
I mean the actual software though–can I download the software onto my computer and install it on a site and have my coworker also download a separate instance of the software on his computer so that he can install WPML on a site?

WPML, using the String Translation module, will translate text widgets (both title and body). Sounds like this will get you covered.

A good number of people build their sites with Thesis and WPML. Have a look here for how to deal with the legacy Thesis navigation:
http://wpml.org/2010/04/building-a-company-site-with-thesis-and-wpml/
WPML’s CMS version will allow you to translate every piece of text in any Thesis site.
Is there any import / migration functionality from qTranslate available? I would love to switch to WPML, however, hesitate due to massive manual work. Or alternatively can I use both plugins in parallel and move slowly in a step by step approach? Robert
Recently, there’s been a lot of interest in this tool. We’re working on it. I should have an update in a few days.
This are great news! Please don’t forget to announce it widely, once this function is ready.
