  1. Hi there,

I’m working on a site at the moment where we will have multiple languages, but in one of the languages we need to include additional information that’s not relevant in the others. I am using Elementor page builder.

I guess I can do this in the manual translations, by just adding the additional information in, I just wanted to check that wouldn’t cause problems in the future if my client changes the English original version, will the system try to update the other languages as well to reflect those changes and therefore remove the additional information in the other language?

Just want to make sure we don’t cause any problems for ourselves further down the line!

    Thanks

  2. Hello,

We are a non-profit and years ago a company. Our web developer many years ago used this plugin on our site. We are in the process of just updating our site and it broken when we upgraded PHP. I do not know if they bought us a dedicated license or what. Can you let me know what we need to do? Also, do you have any non profit discounts?

I appreciate your help, thank you!

    Chris

    • Hello, yes, you can use your credit card instead of PayPal. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.

    • Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML. We don’t have the lifetime option. The agency package will auto-renew each year unless you cancel it (which you can do at any time from within your WPML account). We provide 25% discount for renewals. You can also switch to manual renewals if needed but if you forget to renew on time, you will lose the discount. I hope this helps.

  3. Dears,

I am using Houzez theme and wondering if WPML is supported and if it support automatic translating. I will let my end users to use CRM of attached with theme to add new listings in English and want the listings to be auto translated to Arabic. i am able to do that as manual using other translating plugins, but I want it to be automatic translating.

I appreciate your response, thank you!

  4. Hi there,

I need to develop a multilingual site in Korean (hangul writing script) and English.

My questions about your great plugin are:

    1. can I somehow specify language dependent hyphenation rules? E.g in Korean I would like to switch off hyphenation but I would need hyphenation rules for English. I know that I can change hyphenation rules with CSS commands but I don’t know how your tool supports that different hyphenation styles are needed for different languages.

    2. does your tool support that I would need to use different fonts for English and Korean?

    Thank you very much!

    Kind regards,
    Steffen

    • Hello,
      1. No, we don’t provide any features for handling hyphenation. But you can manually edit the automatic translations if needed.
      2. I’m not sure if I understand your question. Using fonts depends on your keyboard, not on WPML. When you type in the WPML’s editor, you can use the characters that your active keyboard supports. I.

  5. hi

    the client purchased
your plugin for 3 webpages, but the problem is that it did not keep the login credentials. so I can not download the plugin, install it and use it on the webpage.
I can also send you the email address from which it was ordered and the receipt of payment. We would be glad if we could download and use it.
Thank you for the early and positive processing
    kindly regards

  6. Hello,
I would like to translate my site using strings for everything except blog posts and pages. Is it possible to disable string translation in WPML for blog posts and pages, and instead basically just create a duplicate copy that I can translate manually?
It is because the content of posts and pages may differ from language to language.
    Thanks

  7. Hi Agnes,

    Thanks for your kind replay.

    Re my 2nd questions

I like to clarify: this is not a problem with my keyboard. in English I would use, say, the font Helvetica for the website. But for the page in Korea I would need to use a nice Hangul font, eg. Nanum Gothic. So when a user visits the Korean page, the font is different to the English page. How can I achieve that, please?

    Thank you very much!

    • Hello,
you cannot buy WPML for 5 years in advance. We give our renewals clients a 25% discount each year.
You can also do the following:
      1. But for the first year as you would normally do
      2. Test WPML, if everything works correctly and you are sure you want to keep WPML, you can switch to manual renewals (from within your WPML account) and pay in advance for the next year(s).

    • Hello, in this case, you will pay only the difference between the two. Our system provides the “Upgrade” button and it will calculate the difference.

  9. The “Pay-as-you-go” method is cheaper than the “Prepaid” method, if so, can you better explain to me how much the difference is?
I want to buy credits but I have this question

  10. Hello, I recently started using WPML and it’s not often that I build websites requiring multiple languages. The website I recently built is currently using the cheapest tier, “Multilingual Blog”. If I need to purchase a second license for a different client, can I add another “Multilingual Blog” or do I need to upgrade my account to “Multilingual CMS”? If upgrading is necessary, will it require any updates to the website I have already built?

    Regards,
    Lautaro.

  11. Hi!

How exactly do automatic translation credits renew? If I started a Multilingual CMS subscription, and I’ve gotten the 90,000 credits on start, is this the limit on the credit amount? What I want to know is if I renew the subscription, and I would get the 60,000 credits will it add to this 90,000 free credits or will it “cap” this amount, and the rest of the credits will be discarded?

    • Hello Patryk,
Thanks for your questions. This is how it works:
You will get 90,000 credits wih your initial purchase for a CMS subscription. If you use them during the first year and need more, you can use one of these automatic translation pricing options.
      https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/

If you don’t use them all before the year renewal kicks in, and you have a remainer of -let’s say 20,000 credits- your account would get top up to 60,000 credits with the renewal, meaning: we would add 40,000 credits more.

I hope this explains things. Please confirm.

    • Hello Adam, please use this form and let us know what problem you want us to solve. It’s not clear what the problem actually is. You can also share private data when using the contact form. Please share anything that will help us find you or your client account in our system. Thank you.

  12. he bought the licence yesterday form the link but he was the problems with Tax number then he back to previous site so I do not know if the link works, please contact me and check

  13. Hi!
Can you explain how your pricing works?

First you buy a membership like the “Multilingual CMS” which is billed yearly and then you can buy credits with which you can purchase automatic translations. Does that sound about right?

And concerning the credits, how many credits do I need to use per word?

    Thanks in advance!
    Tim

    • Hello Tim,
yes, using WPML includes two kinds of pricing:
      1) Subscription price, yes, it’s billed yearly with 25% discount for the next year(s). You can cancel your subscription at any time and still use WPML but without updates.
      2) Translation credits. You will get 90 000 in the package which allows you to translate 45 000 words if you use DeepL or Google Translate option (DeepL is the default) or 90 000 words if you choose the Microsoft translation engine. If you run out of credits you have two opinions, both described in detail here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/

  15. Hi!

We are in the process of getting ready to implement WPML for our WCFM WordPress site. I tried finding the answers for the following questions but was not successful:

    – Is it possible to downgrade from Multilingual CMS to Multilingual Blog? I know that we can upgrade from the Blog to the CMS, but I am not sure if we can go the other way around.
    – Do you have a tutorial or KB Link on how to migrate from Loco Translate to WPML? We have a lot of translations that we don’t want to loose if we switch plugins. I am not sure if we could export a .po/.mo file from loco and import it into WPML.
    – If we are able to export/import the translations from loco, do we still need to purchase the Multilingual CMS license to benefit from the theme and plugin translations? We already did them using Loco (WCFM plugin translations, MartFury theme), and we are trying to avoid having to redo them, any suggestions?

Thank you in advance for your time and support!

    • Hello Rodrigo,
I am afraid we don’t have downgrade plans. If you buy a CMS subscription and then want to switch to Blog, you will have to wait until the expiry date of the CMS and then repurchase a new Blog subscription, for the full amount.
We don’t have a specific import plugin for Loco translate, but we have an export/import for .po files https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/#import-export-po
About buying a WPML subscription, it depends on what you want to translate: if plugins and the theme strings> no
Is it pages and products? Then yes.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

      Kind regards

  16. We are looking to purchase WPML services for our enterprise site infrastructure. I require an internal contact who can facilitate answering some legal and security questions for our vendor onboarding team. This contact needs to be an individual. Can you contact me with the appropriate person to direct those questions to?

  17. Hello,

We’re wondering if when using the automatic translation feature but we need to correct part of the text (one or two words), what happens? Do we switch to the classic editor and then lose all future automatic translation ability? Or is it possible to make minor corrections and keep the automatic translation capability?

Also, the site runs with advanced custom fields plugin. Does WPML work well with this plugin?

    Thank you,
    Taryn

    • Hello,
yes, you can correct machine translation at any time you want. You just open the translated page for editing. It will open in the WPML advanced translation editor that looks like this: https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/ate-1.png
and you can edit the translations.

      > Do we switch to the classic editor and then lose all future automatic translation ability?
You can also switch to the classic WordPress editor if you want but yes, this brings some limitations. If your page has been translated with machine (automatic) translations after switching to the standard WP editor you will see the content of the page filled out with the machine translation which you can edit. But once you switched to the classic editor then you need to manually maintain the translation of this page, which means that if your original page has changed, then you need to open the translated page manually and update relevant pieces manually. This page explains how you can switch off the WPML translation editor for individual pages and use manual translations: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/#when-to-use-manual-translation.
If your pages keep using the WPML advanced translation editor, whenever you update something in the original page, its translation page gets updated automatically.

      > Also, the site runs with advanced custom fields plugin. Does WPML work well with this plugin?
Yes, WPML is compatible with ACF too. https://youtu.be/KYtFkMJ-TpI

  18. I wanted to paid with Paypal but it only authorised payments with credit card? we got cash on PayPal not on credit card [we don’t use them]. Let me know if possible to pay WPML.
    Thank you.
    Bruno

    • Hello,
Yes, you should be able to pay with your PayPal balance directly, you may need to change the source of the payment from your account. However you need to have a credit card linked to your PayPal account, this is mandatory. Even if the payment is processed with your PayPal balance. Also, there may be a restriction for your country (this is not something we define, but PayPal does).
Alternatively, you use a regular credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.
