Hello, we have installed and configured WPML. We use the WPML editor, with translation credits (for automatic translations). It works almost perfectly, but we have a problem with the first save/create post in the translated language. To summarize our process:
I create a post in French (the site's original language). I enter all my content in French (via flexible ACF custom fields).
I save the French post, then use the WPML editor to automatically translate the content into English. All content is properly translated, I save, and this creates the English post (in the translated language).
However, if I open this post in English on our site, the page is empty and no content is retrieved.
No matter how many times I repeat the operation, the content remains empty. I have to open this post in English (via the wordpress editor) and save it manually. After this operation, the English post is visible at the front.
I will continue with this ticket, as my colleague said we can not debug or support issues with custom code/theme.
What I suggest is to check if the issue still happens when using WP default theme and only WPML plugins and ACF.
You add some simple code to the WP default theme to echo ACF field on the front and enable ACF / options page, etc if needed or install the ACF plugin.
can we please continue in English as this is ticket in English support forum, and I am afraid I do not speak French.
Also, can you please check our suggestion and let us know if the issue still happens in that environment? As we can not support or debug custom-coded solutions.
Let me know.
Thanks,
Drazen
