Hey there, I checked this out but so far I couldn't find a fix for it. I asked my colleagues to have a look at this issue in order to see if there's anything I'm missing. I'll come back here as soon as one of my colleagues reply back to me (which it shouldn't take long). Thanks, |

This issue is resolved. There is a setting under WPML - Settings - Multilingual Content Setup. At the bottom of that page, under "Media Translation" -> "How to handle media library texts" -> tick the box "Translate media library texts with posts". This makes WPML read the alt/title/description tags from the Media Library. You should add this to a FAQ somewhere 🙂 |

I think I came to the previous conclusion to soon, I still need assistance. Ticking the "Translate media library texts with posts" checkbox adds the tags to WPML. |

Hi there, Thanks for your reply and the updates. Upon further inspection, we have concluded that this behavior is expected. It is a known case which is happening because there is a difference between image data added to a post and image attachments. You are uploading image to a post, and you are translating the image element texts in the ATE. They can have different values and probably the one in the post does not have anything set as alt so there is nothing to translate for it. Media library texts are separate from the values in the post itself. Especially when it comes to caption and alt values. The name of the file is different and it is created upon translating (or by default on uploading), and it is usually based on the attachment original value. Having said that, I'm afraid that you'll need to fill the 'alt text' field for the Avada Builder images, because as I mentioned above, the texts inserted in the media library are not the same as the ones inserted in the post/page. I hope that this explanation solves the question. Thanks for your understanding. |

So the checkbox "Translate media library texts with posts" doesn't work at all in this case? I should un-check it and add the alt tag inside each Avada Builder Image Element itself? Unfortunately, the Image Element does *only* contain the alt-tag. There is no description- or title tag. Will these not be translated then? |

Hi there, Thanks for your reply. That's right, unless you add the image in a different way than through the Avada Builder. For this, I kindly suggest to use the Media Translation addon, which will facilitate this work for you. Regards, |

In that case, the following section that says I should NOT use Media Translation is incorrect? |

Hi there, Thanks for your reply. I'm afraid that no, this is a different case. In the documentation, we refer to the standard media attached to a post. In this case, their texts can be translated with ATE. As we have checked, it is different with the Avada Builder 'Image' module. Unfortunately it won't be possible to translate as the same say we do in post attached images. Thanks for your undertanding. |
