Hello, Everything you mentioned should be translatable at WPML > String Translation Go to WPML > String Translation and in the bottom section enable "Edit user roles" inside the section "Translate user properties". See screenshot. You should now be able to find the strings, if you use the text search field in the top section or by selecting specific text domains. You also can create a translation job for those strings at WPML > Translation Management > Dashboard > Other texts. Best regards |

Hello Andreas, Thank you for your message and the instructions. I followed the steps you suggested: - Enabled "Edit user roles" under the "Translate user properties" section. Unfortunately, I’m still unable to locate the actual string corresponding to the author biography. I also tried searching by a fragment of the bio text itself, but no results appeared. Is it possible that the string is not being registered properly for translation? I’d appreciate any further guidance on how to make this field available for translation. Thanks again for your help! After enabling the option to translate the user strings in WPML > String Translation, did you try to make a small edit inside the user profile and save the fields again? |

Hi, Thanks for your suggestion. Yes I edited the user profile, made a small change to the Biographical Info field, and saved it — but unfortunately, the string still doesn’t show up in the String Translation section. I’ve searched for the text in every possible way: by keyword, usermeta, wp_users, description, biography — and even by specific phrases from the text itself — but nothing appears. If you go to WPML > String Translation and click the link at the bottom "Translate texts in admin screens" I can find the string. It seems to belong to a widget block. See screenshot. I have added the strings now, please try to translate it. |

Hi Andreas, Thank you for your message. The string shown in the screenshot you sent is similar, but it’s not the correct one. As I mentioned in my previous message, the correct text starts with: "I’ve been living in France for many years with my French wife and our Franco-Argentinian daughter." The one in your image starts with: "I'm Diego and I've been living..." Would you be able to help me locate the one I shared earlier? That’s the one currently visible in the author box on the frontend, and the one I’d like to translate. Thanks again for your support, |

The reason was, that at WPML > String translation it was currently set to only to be able to translate texts for users with "Author" role. New guide for latest version of WPML: |

Hi Andreas, Thanks again for your guidance. I’ve updated the WPML plugin to the latest version and followed the instructions in the guide you shared. I successfully located and translated the author meta strings under WPML > String Translation. However, the translations are not being reflected on the frontend — the original version still appears, even after completing and saving the translations. I also tried modifying the original (source) string directly, but the change does not show up in the String Translation interface. Additionally, I’ve cleared all caches (both from the WordPress plugin and server-side), but the issue persists. It seems like the translations and updates aren’t being applied/rendered properly. Do you have any suggestions on what I could try next? Thanks again for your continued support, |

Hi Andreas, Just a quick follow-up regarding the author bio translation issue. While reviewing the Author string in the WPML translation editor, I noticed that the original language is set to English, when in fact the default lenguaje is the spanish. Could this mismatch be contributing to the issue — preventing the correct rendering of translations on the frontend? Thanks again for your time and help, |

The source language of the string is English, as you can see on the flag. The only "Spanish" I can see here is the admin text on the backend. This admin text or the site default language inside WPML does not have any influence on the source language of posts, pages, or strings. You can change the source language of the registered string this way: --- Do I understand correctly that the translations are not working as expected?
