Background of the issue:
I would like to use a subdomain to set up my multilingual functionality on my site hidden link. I am following the documentation at https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/.

Symptoms:
The language of the subdomain is not valid because the subdomain will always 301 redirect to my main domain.

Questions:
Why does the subdomain always redirect to my main domain when setting up multilingual functionality?
