[Resolved] Domain hidden link problem after WPML translation
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is experiencing an issue where the domain http://www.wintergartenalu.de redirects to ogrodyzimowe.online and displays the Polish version of the site, whereas wintergartenalu.de correctly shows the German version. The client suspects this might be related to WPML settings. Solution: We recommended initially disabling WPML to verify if the issue persists with domain redirections. If the problem continues, it suggests that the issue is with the domain configuration rather than WPML. If disabling WPML resolves the issue, the client should inform us so we can assist further. Additionally, we advised the client to contact their domain/hosting provider to ensure that the redirect from www to non-www URLs is correctly set up and to remove any existing redirects that might be causing the issue.
If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I have the WPML plugin installed on my WordPress site. I am managing two languages: Polish and German. I am trying to ensure that my domains are correctly configured for language-specific content.
Symptoms:
The domain hidden link redirects to ogrodyzimowe.online and shows the Polish version of the site. However, wintergartenalu.de correctly shows the German version.
Questions:
Where should I configure the domain settings in WordPress WPML to ensure hidden link shows the same site as wintergartenalu.de?
While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly.
This seems to be more related to your domain configuration then WPML. I advise disabling WPML and checking if you still have an issue and if both the domain / www and without open fine without WPML. If not, then you should recheck your domain configuration. If it works fine, then let us know so we can further help with the WPML issue.
Hi,
If in WPML --> languages settings --> Germany domain field I set wintergartenalu.de so it works correctly I see Germany website but hidden link is redirect to polish version ogrodyzimowe.online.
If in WPML --> languages settings --> Germany domain field I set hidden link so it works correctly but wintergartenalu.de doesn't works correctly.
So I think If domain is not set in languages settings so WPML redirect always to polish version.
Is it possible to set hidden link and wintergartenalu.de to point to the Germany website version??
I am afraid that is not correct, your both domains should work and open fine without WPML, they should not redirect to each other but show same default language content on both domains. Only when they work correct without WPML, we can also expect it to work correct with WPML.
This is also mentioned in our docs, under section Testing if the domains are set properly:
I advise to test without WPML; make sure it works fine like that, and then if you still have issue when WPML enabled, let us know and we will be glad to help,.
I would advise contacting your domain/hosting and making sure to remove the redirect you currently have and that www/without www URLs opens fine, then you can set up a redirect from www to not www version or how you wish. I am afraid setting another redirect now could cause an issue.
