This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to import a ZIP file containing multiple XLIFF files into WPML, but you receive an 'import failed' message. This issue persists even though individual files import successfully.
Solution:
1. Ensure that the translation jobs for which you are uploading the XLIFF files are still in progress. If the original content has changed, creating a new job ID could cause the upload to fail.
2. Check if the ZIP file was created on a Mac, as it might include an extra folder starting with a dot, which can cause import issues. Try creating the ZIP file on a Windows system or ensure that no extra folders are included.
3. Enable WordPress debug mode to gather more information about the error. Follow the guide here: https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/debug/debug-wordpress/
4. If the problem persists, it might be related to server-side resources. Contact your hosting provider to check the server logs.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to import a zip file containing 70-80 XLIFF files, but I keep getting an import failed message. The issue can be seen at hidden link.

Symptoms:
Importing XLIFF files fails when importing as a ZIP file.

Questions:
Why does importing XLIFF files as a ZIP file fail?
Are there specific requirements for importing XLIFF files in bulk?

Hello,

There should not be an issue with importing a zip file that contains various XLIFF files, as long the jobs for which you try to upload those files are still in progress.

In case the original content was changed in the meantime it would create a new job ID and then the upload might fail.

Do you have some more details regarding the error?

Do you maybe this this message?

Best regards

Hi,

No the IDs all match up and the files are fine when I upload them 1 at a time.

But whenever I try zip them and import 10 or more (or some likes 8 or so) it just says "import failed" with no other reason.

Kind Regards,

Jack

Hello,
My name is Carlos and I will continue working on this ticket

Sometimes the zip files created with a Mac can contain an extra folder (that starts with a point) and it might cause importing issues. Could you create the zip file using Windows or just make sure that the extra folder isn't there and then check if the importing issue disappears?

Hi Carlos,

I tested this already and still the same issue.

There are no extra folders and the ZIP file import keeps failing.

Kind Regards,

Jack

After reviewing the translation uploads, it seems say import failed, but still uploads the translations in the background, when I refresh the pages seem to work, and with every refresh new page translations are imported

Thank you for your feedback.

Then the cause of the issue is not importing the XLIFF files; it seems the problem is with the server-side resources. Have you contacted your hosting providers about this issue and asked them to check the server logs?
