Background of the issue:
I am trying to bulk upload products in both English and Arabic on my site hidden link. I have exported the products from another WordPress website using WPML and am following the documentation at https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-export-and-import/preparing-import-files-for-wpml-export-and-import/ to upload them.

this is a screencast of the issue: hidden link

Symptoms:
When I try to import the products, the English versions work correctly, but the Arabic ones do not translate.

Questions:
Why are the Arabic products not translating during the import process?

Hello there,

Thank you for contacting WPML support. I'd be happy to assist you on this issue.

Can you send me the product csv file in the next private reply so I can test it on my local setup first and see if it works.

I have enabled the private reply for you.

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks

Hello there,

For me it works without any issue, can you please do the following and see if it helps:

- While Importing the CSV set the ID and SKU to "DO NOT EXPORT".

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks

**Hello,**

The synchronization will be based on the `_wpml_` fields in the CSV. If you need to use specific SKUs, I recommend using unique SKUs for each field. When WPML imports the data, it will adjust the SKUs accordingly so they remain consistent across all languages.

Thank you!

Thanks for this, and sorry im a bit lost here. would you pls be able to create a quick loom video explaining how this would be done, because in the documentation, i learned that the sku's need to be the same for english and arabic which we will then use for _wpml_ translation group field.

Hi there,

Were you able to import it using the settings I mentioned? Essentially, the SKU needs to be the same for both languages when using WPML. However, with the importer, products with the same SKU aren’t imported. To resolve this, we can either assign different SKUs or upload the products without a SKU, allowing the system to generate one automatically.

Once the products are imported and the WPML settings are applied, WPML will automatically adjust the SKUs to match across languages.

Let me know if this makes sense.

Thanks!

Hello, yes i imported using the setting you suggested. I see that the arabic products also uploaded but they were not synced and they were assigned english. I made sure that the sku and ID is not imported

Hello there,

I just reimported the product with the link you provided and it didn't even complete, but I can see around 70+ categories in English whereas in your site, it's not that much, so I would suggest you to delete all product and categories from the site, then try to import it in short bulk, lets say 50 first and see if the problem exists.

If the error doesn't exists there, try with next 100 and so-on.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks

Hi so im tried the way you had instructed. In the first set of the products, i imported from row 2 to 99 and theyimported correctly. I then tried importing row 100 to row 200, and in this set the same issue happened where all the products had one cateogry in english. I also double checked that the arabic products in the sheet do not have the english categories. Can you please advise. Is there a way we can connect and figure this out to expedite this?
