Background of the issue:
I am trying to maintain a multilingual site at hidden link. The site has been running smoothly for years with WPML, but recently it has become incredibly slow.

Symptoms:
The site is incredibly slow, blocking customer orders, and the issue seems to be caused by the WPML plugin. The hosting provider confirmed this, and deactivating WPML resolves the issue.

Questions:
How can I resolve the slowness issue caused by WPML?
Is there a way to keep the multilingual functionality without affecting site performance?
