This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to find the header translation in the WPML Translations page and was instead seeing a 404 page. The header had been translated in the past and worked when manually requested through the translation basket, but the client was unsure how to proceed with changes in the header/footer for future updates.

Solution:
1. We asked the client to check the DIVI options to ensure the header template was set correctly, as it was mistakenly named "404 error".
2. We provided a guide for translating custom global headers and footers with the Divi Builder:
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/divi-builder/#translating-custom-global-header-footer
3. We suggested making a small change to the header/footer to see if the issue persisted.
4. After renaming the header template page the header translation worked.

If the solution provided here is not relevant to your case, either because it's outdated or not applicable, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Can you please help me with the header translations?

I translated the menu on the header and then tried to find the header on the Translations page, but I could see only a 404 page.

I don't know why.

Currently, the English version of the page needs to be correctly displayed - see the attachments.
I could find the header in the past, and when I manually requested the translation, it was working. Now, I cannot see it.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support, I will be happy to help you.

I notice that the page name is "404 error" but it is a header template, could you please check on the DIVI options and check how is the header template set?

Looking forward to your reply,
Marsel

Hi,

I don't know why there is the name of the page 404 error - it is WMLP which is loading this name. I think it is because I designed it for a 404 page initially. I use it on the global header as well. Previously, there was no name.

Finally, I displayed the correct version when I made it manual translation several times via the translation basket. Now, the correct English version is displayed. But for the future - I am not sure what I should do when I make some changes in the header/footer.

Hi,

Thank you for the update.

Would it be possible to check if the issue happens again while making sure you are following the instructions from this guide:
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/divi-builder/#translating-custom-global-header-footer

* Make a small change to the header/footer just to check out if the issue persists.

Looking forward to your reply,
Marsel

Hi,
i have checked the header page name - and can see, that it is named as 404 page - not sure why. I have renamed it to some other name - and now I can see it via Translations page.

Maybe it has been renamed accidentally on the initial setup of the website somehow.

Following the instructions from the link I shared before would be the correct way on setting up the pages/templates when using Divi themes.

Let me know if you have any other questions of need further assistance.

Regards,
Marsel
