This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
I'm trying to change some texts in the footer but after trying to change it the language stays in one lnaguage. So I tried deleting the footer template and duplicating and translating it again and that seemed to work at first but now only the new template is showing.

Solution:
The string Translation plugin was missing from the site. In order to translate the Elementor template and pages and make the translation work, the String Translation plugin is needed.

Hello Mathijs,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support. I will try my best to assist you in this matter.

I understood that you're having some issues updating the translation of the Footer template. While checking the WPML debug info that you shared, I noticed that the String Translation plugin is not listed there. Which means the plugin is either deactivated or not installed on your site.

Kindly be informed that to translate the sites that are built using Elementor, it is essential to have the String Translation plugin installed. Kindly check this documentation for a better understanding: https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/

Please install the String translation addon and then update the translation of the template. I hope the translation will appear properly after that.

Let me know if that helps or if you need further assistance. I will be happy to help.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit
