Background of the issue:
I want to pause the automatic translation of one language on my site hidden link. Currently, both DE and EN are enabled. The client wants to add budget for EN only.

Symptoms:
I need to know how to do this without losing DE translations that are already done.

Questions:
How can I pause the automatic translation for DE while keeping the existing translations?
How can I allocate the translation budget to EN only?

Hello,

WPML does sadly not yet include such a feature when translating everything automatically in the background, but if you are interested I can offer to open a Feature Request for this.

To solve your issue, I suggest that you make sure to disable "Translate Everything" at WPML > Translation Management > Dashboard inside the top right corner of the dashboard.

After that, you can go to WPML > Translation Management > Jobs and cancel any in-progress jobs that you would not like to continue. You can filter those jobs by source and target language.

Now, if you want to translate only into one language, simply go to WPML > Translation Management > Dashboard and create jobs for the contents that you would like to translate, while simply selecting only the language that you would like to translate the contents into.

More details:

Best regards
Andreas

Once you remove the language all its contents will be assigned to site's default language.
