Background of the issue:
I switched from classic translation editor to the latest version of translation editor in WPML-->settings and also checked the radio box that the latest editor should also be used for all the existing translations. Then the icon in the menu bar showed me that some conversions is ongoing. After waiting until all task got 100% I went to pages and tried to open a translation with the pen icon.

Symptoms:
All the translations have been empty. But they have been there with the classic translation editor!

Questions:
What am I doing wrong here?

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

The two editors are not synchronized, and this is expected behavior. You need to copy and paste the translations to the WPML advanced translation editor.

https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-the-translation-editor/switching-from-classic-to-advanced-translation-editor/

Note: After you switch content previously translated using the Classic Translation Editor to the Advanced Translation Editor, existing translations will still show on the frontend. But, these translations may be completely or partially missing when you open the post in the Advanced Translation Editor.

thanks for your kind response Andrey!
This is really bad new because it's a ton of work doing all this conversion by copy an past manually 🙁

But I'm running into another issue with the new translation editor:

We use flat some UX designer and have some html code embedded which starts with [ux_html] and ends with [/ux_html]:

code looks like this
[ux_html]

<div class="container-cls">
<div class="section-cls">
<h2>SPORT2:</h2>
<div class="report-cls"> Testbericht Bike&Travel Magazin (Deutsch) : hidden link" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bike_and_Travel_Magazin_01_23
</div>
<div class="report-cls"> Testbericht mountainbike.nl (Holländisch) : hidden link" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mountainbike.nl
</div>
</div>

<div class="section-cls">
<h2>SPORT:</h2>
<div class="report-cls"> Testbericht ADFC München (Deutsch) : hidden link" target="_blank" rel="noopener">adfc-muenchen.de (Seite 34)
</div>
<div class="report-cls"> Testbericht mtb-news.de (Deutsch) : hidden link" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mtb-news.de
</div>
<div class="report-cls"> Video-Testbericht Gravity Mountainbiker (Deutsch) : hidden link" target="_blank" rel="noopener">youtube.com
</div>
....

the issue is now that we have different amount of rows (div) within that html section in different languages. BUT the new translation editor show up a translation line for each <div> within the [ux_html] tag?? (see picture attached) How can I manage to translate alle the html rows within the [ux_html] tag when we have different amount of these <div> in different languages?
With the classic editor this was easy because we had a singe translation for the howl [ux_html] tag. See 2nd picture attach.

Hope you have a solution for me...

kind regards

:: Paul

Hi Paul,

I'm sorry, but there's no way around it - you'll need to move the translations to the Advanced Translation Editor.

I've opened a new ticket to answer your new question. This will make finding the solution on the forum more accessible for other users with similar questions.

I'll reply to your new question in this thread: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-im-running-into-issue-with-the-new-translation-editor/.
