WordPress 6.7 has introduced a new issue that impact translations, please update WooCommerce and WPML to the latest versions before you report issues. More about this here - https://wpml.org/errata/php-error-wp-6-7-notice-function-_load_textdomain_just_in_time-was-called/
Hi Kor, site not working. I have had post translated: '#4 Be Seen Online: how to develop a good website' into Russian and German manually by my translator.
This appeared to go OK. All translations in place. I backed up the site first, I then added some categories: 'German', 'Russian', 'Translator Nichole Haines German', 'Translator Nichole Haines Russian' to the post.
I then need to update the other languages/translations. I began with Arabic to find only 54% was present, the rest was missing. It was still showing in full on public side. I toggled the advanced translation to the older version but this made no difference.
I then tried to update the German translation - again, lots of missing sections of translations.
I apologize for the delay. Upon checking the page at hidden link , I noticed that it is 88% translated into German. Are you suggesting that completing translations into German, then translating into Arabic and back to German, will result in losing the German translations?
Hi Kor. No that is not the issue. Apologies if I wasn't clear.
The loss of translation occurred when I added categories to the completed post in the default language.
1. Translator manually translates the post for German and Russian. All is fine.
2. All languages are viewable on the front end.
3. I then add 3 new categories to the post in default language.
4. I then go to update all the other languages.
5. Starting with Arabic I go into the Advanced editor and find half of the translation missing. It is still showing on the front end.
6. I then check German - same thing.
It appears that the adding 3 categories, has forced the loss of whole sections of completed translations.
Please check the other languages for this post to see if they too have lost sections.
I’ll review this further, but it would be very helpful if you could record the issue using a screen recorder so I can try to replicate it on your website. You can use this free tool hidden link
Thanks Kor, all I did was add categories to a post. On checking the different languages to update them after adding the categories, translations were lost. Not sure how a video will help? Are you still unsure of the process I am describing?
I'll roll it back to just BEFORE I added the categories and back it up. The last time we did a copy site is was a nightmare as everything got muddled in terms of changes etc. so we don't want to do that.
