Background of the issue:
We have some posts that get reused in multiple categories on our site hidden link. We are using WPML's Advanced Translation Editor to manage translations for 10,000's of posts across 18 different languages.
Symptoms:
When we add posts to a translation basket, and these posts have already been translated, the previous translation is gone when the translator opens them for translation. The editor is blank, requiring a full translation again.
Questions:
Is there a way to set WPML so that if a post has already been translated, the translated text is loaded into the editor rather than requiring a full translation again?
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.
IMPORTANT
- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:
In the staging version, I wasn't even able to properly send items for translation. I'm getting a second opinion with my colleagues and will let you know once we have new information or questions. Thank you.
I was able to replicate the same issue before giving you access to the staging site. Did you disable all of the plugins before trying to replicate the issue? That would seem to suggest that one of the plugins is causing the issue. I also have an open ticket with Toolset trying to resolve an issue so perhaps they are in some way related.
I'm going to ask another member of my team to replicate the issue on the staging site. He's a WordPress expert so he said he will try disable the plugins one by one until the issue no longer exists.
Can you give me a few days to a week to do this and get back to you?
