This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
Some strings coming from a custom theme weren't translated in English on the frontend even if they were translated in the backend.

Solution:
- The string was coming from a custom theme and could be translated in "WPML > String Translation"
- Translations were showing correctly on all languages but English which means that the string was properly registered for translation
- Resaving the English translation by added a space after the text was enough to solve the issue.

Some of the translation of expressions don't work on ENG version, but it worked a few days ago.

For example this translation - hidden link

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

There is more such case, only on ENG version.

Hello again,

As we solved that issue in chat. I will also close that ticket.

I will let the solution in case it can help another client.
- The string was coming from the theme and could be translated in "WPML > String Translation"
- Translations were showing correctly on all languages but English which means that the string was properly registered for translation
- Resaving the English translation by added a space after the text "Show on map" was enough to solve the issue.
