This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was experiencing issues with WPML credits not being visible in the WPML dashboard despite being available on the WordPress side. They were confused about the process of transferring credits between accounts and re-registering WPML with a new key.
Solution:
We advised the client to follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Navigate to https://wpml.org/account and use the 'Add/Remove' button to move the credits back to their WPML.org account.
2. Visit https://wpml.org/account/sites, remove the current WPML key, and generate a new one for the site.
3. In the WordPress backend, go to Plugins > Add New > Commercial, unregister WPML using the old key, and re-register with the new key.
4. Assign the credits back to the site by following the steps at https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/how-to-assign-automatic-translation-credits-to-your-sites/.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If issues persist, please open a new support ticket at https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/.

Hi there,

I see there are two existing automatic translation accounts for this website, which is why this issue is happening. One has the credits you mentioned (the older one), and the new one has zero credits.

I could quickly move the credits for you from one account to the other, but that won't fix the root of the issue. You would face the same problem again if you wanted to assign more credits in the future.

Please follow these steps to fix this once and for all:

1. Click the blue “Add/Remove” button here: (https://wpml.org/account) and move the credits back to your WPML.org account.
2. Then go here: (https://wpml.org/account/sites) > remove the current WPML key for this site > generate a new WPML production key for this site.
3. Copy the key and go to the backend of your site > Plugins > Add New > Commercial > UN-register WPML from the OLD key and RE-register WPML with the new key.

Then, you should be able to go here: (https://wpml.org/account/) and follow the steps in this URL to assign the credits back to your site: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/how-to-assign-automatic-translation-credits-to-your-sites/

I hope you find this information helpful.

Please let me know how things go.

I tried already to take back the credit but it doesn't allow me. You can see that there's no option to do so.

Please try to allocate that credit to that "new" account. And since manual steps to return the credit, remove the key, re-register the wpml etc. do not work, I would appreciate if you would be completely honest and tell that this might happen again since I have created other translator for the website that are not quite equipped to do all the things you've asked me to do. That would be a deal breaker for us.

Hi there and thank you for your response.

There might be a misunderstanding: the "place" in your screenshot is not the correct one from where you can click "add/remove" credits.

I mentioned that you should go here (https://wpml.org/account) and only from that page, you should be able to click the blue 'add/remove" credits button to take them back to your account.

Please take a look again at point number 1 that I shared in my reply above:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/you-dont-have-enough-credits-to-translate-automatically-contact-the-websites-owner-to-request-m/#post-15731734

There's no need for me to NOT be honest with you 🙂

I was completely honest and I was trying to help you avoid having to open support ticket requests in the future for the same issue.

Of course, we would always be happy to assist you and move the credits manually to the new account each time you need it, but I think you might prefer to save time and not have to deal with that repetitive task.

I am moving the credits right now (59.896 credits in total) to the new account and you should be able to see them on the site.

Please let me know if they show up correctly now inside your site's backend (WordPress Admin > WPML > Translation Management > "Tools" tab).

I will be waiting for your response.

Thank you.

Ok, thanks Mihai. The problem is not resolved.

Let's go back to the top:

1. You wrote that there are two automatic accounts ( how come when we have only one account? ) and that if you transfer the credit it wouldn't fix the problem (and that's why I questioned the future problems).

2. We had 59896 credits left ( pls check 00 - Account profile...png) and we couldn't use it because it was not available in WMPL on WP

3. You somehow fixed a part of it and now we have the remaining credit on WPML - WP side but not on the WPML dashboard ( 01 - Account profile...png )

4. Domain is connected and registered (image (14).png)

5. Your instructions to remove the credit by clicking add / remove on domain administration ( image (15).png) lead to a page that had none of the options (image (13).png)

So the question now is where is the credit that's left and will this be happening again?

Thanks

Hello and welcome back!

1. If you migrate the site, remove/reinstall WPML, or create a new WordPress setup/reset the current WordPress site, WPML will generate a new ID in the database for the automatic translation account. This might be why we have two accounts.

2. The button I mentioned is the one in the attached screenshot with the green arrow. You can find it here: https://wpml.org/account. The button is now grayed out (not blue anymore) because I manually removed the credits as you requested and transferred them to your other automatic translation account.

3. Yes, I understand.

That's why I suggested these steps here (https://wpml.org/forums/topic/you-dont-have-enough-credits-to-translate-automatically-contact-the-websites-owner-to-request-m/#post-15731734) to address the root cause. However, you preferred that I move the credits manually from the other account to the current one you are using on the site.

This means you have the correct credits in the site's backend to start using the automatic translation feature, but inside your WPML.org account, you still see zero.

This record shows how many credits you have on your older account, which now has zero credits because we moved them to the current one.

5. You asked: "So where is the remaining credit and will this happen again?"

The remaining credits are now assigned to your other account, connected to your site. That's why you can see those credits in the WordPress backend area.

If you ever need to assign new credits to your current site, you will need to get in touch with us, as I manually moved the credits instead of taking another route.

Also, a new automatic translation account will be generated if WPML/WordPress is reset, reinstalled, or the site is migrated.

I hope this clears things up.
