Hi there! May I have a reference page where the problem is happening? and also would you be able to allow me access to the site to test that page? If possible let me know what change did you make so I can try to locate it on my end and figure out why is it not working on your end. Thanks in advance. |

Hello, The reason why I need a reference page or a few pages where the problem happens is so I can run tests on them. If I pick one randomly and that one doesn't have any problem, it will just be a waste of time for both of us and we will not solve anything. About not changing it, I guess I can try to find a way to work with that. the SEO is not ruined if you leave it for a few hours but I understand what you're trying to avoid. Please watch this video that i recorded on your site, in the meantime: hidden link Can you let me know if this is what you do? Thanks in advance. |

Hello, Please watch the video and in there you'll see all that I did (I browsed the site, mentioned a few things and asked other things. It's part of our policy to not make changes to live sites without explicit consent). Those drafts you mention are almost all from before you even opened this ticket and the only one that is from today is for a post that I never even opened, but if that post was edited today, then that could be a clue! If the drafts weren't there before and now they are, it means that the DB entries didn't have any language assigned to it and now they do. I totally understand that you are frustrated because this happens but please understand that we need to see the problem and we Can't assume anything not from other tickets or even from this one because that's how misunderstandings are born (that's also why i asked for a reference post) 🙁 ---------------------- May I at least know what to look for, how to spot a problematic post that could have this issue? is there something you checked in the front-end that made you edit the translation? All these things can help me get to the bottom of the problem. |

Hi About the new draft issue: All those drafts appeared after you cleared the cache under the French list (my initial language) but the content is in different languages. I have no idea where they come from. I really don't understand where they come from. About the original issue: I created a new article for you with just the title and a little bit of text, and no-index (and an older published date so it does not appear on my homepage: 11 august). the French original is "Que faire à Paris (test WPML)." When I first open the Danish version I corrected to : However, if you go check, you will see that the published danish version still has the old URL and the old title. If I reopen the translation, I will see the corrections are still correctly there with the translation editor, even though they are not displayed on the frontend. Thanks. |

Here is the link to the Danish published translation: hidden link I also did the English one, so that you have a second example: The title was: What to do in Paris (wpml test) I corrected to : And the link the the current English publised version which did not applied the corrections: hidden link |

Hello! Sorry for the delay but I'm currently waiting on our devs to let us know how to continue here because i could recreate this on a sandbox site as well and it's indeed something weird, don't think it's expected but the devs will let us know more soon 🙂 I'll update you as soon as I have more info about this. |

Hello, I see the last message I sent didn't reach you. This happens only when the slug from the translated language is different from the original. The devs mentioned they would study changing this behavior in the future but this was intended for both safety and performance, it was not a bug. However, it should not interfere with automatic translation, only when you edit it manually where you have to save the segment. Regards, |

Hi I am not sure ot udnerstand. And this is a major issue for us. We systematically change the slug. This is ESSENTIAL for SEO in the vairous languages. |

IN the past, segmentation worked differently, and it caused all kinds of issues with translation memory which is when this new version got introduced. the slugs and maybe other similarly structured segments will not save the translation memory for them when they are exactly the same, that should not happen when they are different. however on your end, when I last tested the problem happened when the slug was not translated. One thing you can do for the slugs is to go to WPML > Settings > Translated documents options > Page URL and then change the URL directly in the translated languages. ------------ You mention something about a "safety tip" and I don't understand very well do you mean but maybe this will answer your question: there were a lot of people that mistakenly saved segments with the same exact value in different languages, then they opened tickets complaining that they didn't mean to, which is why exact segments would not be safe to save in translation memory if they were exactly the same in other languages. We do have some scenarios when the translation engines didn't translate the slug (probably because they didn't have a "correct" translation for it or any other reason) and in those cases it would not be saved because they were not translated either, but that part is handled by the translation engine and not us. Have you tried switching back to the old layout? it can be done through the "gear" icon on the uppermost right corner of the editor, It uses a different configuration and might be a good solution for you.
