This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
I am trying to: get the French layout on the header working properly. A broken layout
Solution:
After further verification, we found out that the header and footer of your site were created using Elementor Header & Footer Builder, but these templates were not translatable nor translated.

So I had to :

1- Make those elements translatable from WPML > Settings > Post type Translation
2- Then I had to go to Appearance > Elementor Header & Footer Builder and translated those two elements, please refer to this screenshot : https://prnt.sc/toYfzzaMobtV

Hi there,

While waiting for one of my colleagues to be assigned to your ticket, please review the following:

- How are you creating the layout? Is this done using Elementor layouts?

I can see that you have both Elementor PRO and the plugin Elementor Header & Footer Builder

If you are using Elementor PRO which is what I recommend to create the template follow the steps from here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/#translate-elementor-templates

If instead, you are using the third-party plugin you will need to create a template per language and assign the 'new' template to the translation.

I'm not really sure how it's being done, to be honest with you - I didn't create it.
Is it possible for you to login and have a look?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I would like to ask for temporary access to your test site’s wp-admin and FTP to investigate the issue further.

Kindly provide me with the steps on how to replicate the problem.

If necessary, I may need to replicate your site locally. To do this, I will temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” on your site, which will enable me to create a copy of your site and its content. Once the problem has been resolved, I will delete the local site. Please let me know if you agree to this.

It is important to note that you should back up your site and database before proceeding, and you can use a plugin like Duplicator for this purpose. Here’s a link to the plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

If you do not see the form below, please do not enter your credentials as they will be publicly exposed:

Hello again,

Thank you for your patience,

I have been able to solve the issue and your menu is now working and displaying correctly in the French website : hidden link
