Background of the issue:
I have been a WPML user for several years for my website arnaudhomburger-realtor.com. I just installed WPML on my new website arnaudhomburger.com and I am trying to set up my WPML with a translation from English into French, using different domains. I am currently using the domain arnaudhomburger.com for my website in English, and I just purchased the domain arnaudhomburger.fr for the French version.

Symptoms:
The WPML setup wizard requests to fill out the domain name for the French version but it says the domain is invalid.

Questions:
Why does the WPML setup wizard say the domain arnaudhomburger.fr is invalid?
Could you help me set up WPML with different domains for each language?

Hi there,

If possible, please try the following steps:

- Switch to 'Different Languages in Directories' and finalize the configuration setup

- Once finished go to WPML->languages and now switch to "different domains per languages" -> add your URL -> uncheck the box option to "validate on save" and save.

Let me know your results, please.

I could install WPML with my developper. However, the pages below are broken and not displaying the right content on the french version:

In addition, I see that many translation are missing on my website french version. The visuals of several pages are affected. I don't understand how this is possible while Houzez theme and yourself mention everywhere online that you have a great compatibility. I am hoping to get help from you in order to have a perfect version of my website in french language. Thank you in advance!

Glad to hear the issue was resolved with the help of your dev team!

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.

(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)

**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **

I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.

NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.

Thank you,
Bobby

Thank you for the access details!

I can see that hidden link is working OK however the other 2 are experiencing an err 500.

There are no errors in the log or in display if enabled.

I resolved it by going to the page -> edit -> switch to the secondary language (stay in the WP Editor) and the click on update.

This is a link directly to the backend editor

I did this for this page

NOTE: The slider looks like it might need some adjustment.

Please review this documentation on how to translate a page manually
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/#how-to-use-manual-translation

Let me know your results.

Also, regarding the footer, I can see that this content is pulled from Houzez taxonomies (property city and property type) using a widget.

I was able to resolve by synchronizing the taxonomies from within WPML->Support->Syncrhonize taxonomies for Properties. -- they were missing their assigned translated properties
