[Closed] WPML makes my wp-admin much slower

This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.

I think after the recent updates, WPML makes my wp-admin much slower to virtually impossible to do anything. The website is survivalskills.vn

Hi,

Reference to our recent chat, meanwhile the ticket is attended by our support, please:

- install WPML String translation
- enable debugging
- check with standard WP theme (i.e. 2021 or 2023)

and let us know your findings.

Hi,
I think that's the problem of the newest update. I found an older version and tried it, my wp-admin is very fast again. However, it doesn't have a license. I want to install a licensed older version. Could you please give me the file for version 4.0.8 ?
I am pretty confident that recent updates have a lot of problem. It crashed my site a month ago too.

Hi there,

You can find our changelog here https://wpml.org/download/wpml-multilingual-cms/?section=changelog however, I am afraid that is quite an old version. (before 2018).

Currently, we cannot recommend using older versions of WPML as major updates have taken place and we can no longer provide support for older versions.

I would like to proceed with further investigating the performance issue you are experiencing if that is ok with you.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)

**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **

I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.

NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.
