[Resolved] Translating content from unknown source that doesn't seem to exist.
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is trying to translate existing pages and remove obsolete content from a previous page builder (WPBakery) that is still appearing in the Translation Management filter options, even after deleting all references from the server database.
Solution: 1. To remove a specific string, search for and delete it from the String Translation page. For detailed instructions, see How to delete a string. 2. If there are any unwanted translation jobs, cancel them from the Translation Jobs page. For more information, visit How to cancel translation jobs. 3. To delete templates from WPBakery: - Reinstall WPBakery and locate the stored templates. - Delete the templates in the default language and their translations, ensuring to also remove them from the trash. 4. It is advised not to delete template posts directly from the database to avoid orphan records. Instead, consider reinstalling WPBakery or contacting their support for assistance.

Tell us what you are trying to do? Translate existing pages
Is there any documentation that you are following? no
Is there a similar example that we can see? You'd have to log in and see for yourself

That content is showing up as being part of my previous page builder, AKA WPBakery page builder with the Total theme. I have deleted all references to WPEX and TOTAL within the server database, but to no avail. Is there a way for you to log in and somewhat try to debug and find the source of that obsolete content? Example: text string "Telus Home Automation" with shortcode "field-wpex_post_subheading"
I also have this entry in the Translation Queue which I would like to get rid of, not knowing where it comes from either. This one is a string. How to get rid of it at least in Translation queue page?
Well, my only remaining issue while cleaning up the mess is the fact that the Translation Management page is showing old [from previous WPBakery Theme] types available as filters.
I see two instances of "Template" (one for Elementor and the other one from WPBakery" How do I delete the one for WPBakery?
The easiest method is to install WP Bakery and check if your previously stored templates come up, then simply delete those, by following these steps:
- Go to templates in default language.
- Switch to secondary language from top admin bar.
- Delete the translation of the template.
- Remove it from trash also.
- Repeat these steps for each translation of the said template(s).
- Finally switch back to default language, delete the template(s) and remove from trash also.
Thank you for waiting on this, the team recommends the following:
They are WordPress posts (with the template post type). You shouldn't delete them directly from the database because you will most probably end up with orphan records lying around (ie: postmeta).
You should really be installing WPBakery, or maybe ask their support.
