As I see from the chat my colleague already explained a viable solution for your issue and your last reply states:

I am afraid the best we do is as we already explained:

1) Change the default language of the product manually:

2) Hire a developer to create a custom solution for you.

you first need to disconnect the Greek product, then connect it to the English one and choose Greek as be default.

So steps would be:

1) Open and edit your product in 2nd language (Greek)
2) Choose *none* for *This is the translation of* field of *Language* widget(on the right side of the screen). Image attached.
3) Save/update the post
4) Then choose to connect with the translation option
6) Choose and connect it to the English post
7) Choose Greek as the original (default) language

thanks for getting back.

You have set to use WordPress editor for these products, but have enabled WPML Translate everything mode, so each time you disconnect it will auto-translate. I have disabled it for now and set it to Translate what you choose from WPML > Settings.

Yes, such an issue with variation can happen as you had products in the different default languages, and now they are disconnected. You might need to re-add variation in the new default language and save once you connect products.

Maybe a simpler way would be to continue and leave this, as I see you have 100+ products, or delete all regular default EN products, check, and make sure Greek products work fine. Use automatic translation and translate them to English, I think it would be faster.

it should be Greek, but if you are creating it in English language then you can also create it default in English.

You can always check what the sidebar says, what is language of product when creating it, image attached.
