Can't translate page

rolandd-5	Hi, I'm using WPML for many years now. Building a new site. Doing everything as I did before. Installing the plugins and deactivate Automatic translation (canceling all jobs after installer the plugin). I open a page and click on the +-sign to translate the page. The new page is open and hit the button "Translate independantly". Before, the relation is set to the original language page, but now it is just a page with no relation to it's parent language page. Why? There is an option to connect to a page. It does show some pages in the original language, but not from the page I hit the +-sign. I want to translate the page in the native WordPress metaboxes. I'm doing this for years. What am I missing here?
