Indexing issue due to wrong default language

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with their website's indexing on Google. Their website's pages are only being shown in English, and they have lost all indexing in their default language, which is Italian. The client suspects that WPML is negatively affecting their website's indexing.

Solution:
If you're experiencing similar indexing issues, we recommend checking your sitemap, which is generated by Rank Math SEO, to ensure that your website's content is properly indexed in all languages. You should also upload your sitemap to Google Search Console. We have verified that the content on the client's website appears to be properly indexed. It's important to note that search results can vary due to Google's ranking algorithm, which takes into account factors such as browser language, location, and internet behavior. WPML SEO allows other plugins, like Rank Math SEO, to understand the language structure of your website and index the content correctly on your sitemap. Therefore, checking the sitemap is a good way to determine if WPML SEO is functioning as intended.

pietro-giaocmoA	I am trying to: We are experiencing an issue with the indexing of our website. Since last motnh of December website's pages are shown Googlem in english only, we ahve lost all our indexing in the default language that is set italian. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: all website After an analysis run by an expert it appears that WPML is affecting in a bad way the indexing of our website as well creating huge damage to our business. To see if the content of your website is properly indexed in all languages, you check your sitemap, generated by Rank Math SEO and make sure to upload it to Google Search Console. I checked your URL in Google, and it seems that the content is properly indexed (see image). Please note, that due to the ranking algorithm, different people will see different search results, so simply searching for a keyword in Google isn't a good indicator of indexing (browser language, location, internet behavior and many other variables impact that Google will show). WPML SEO simply enables other plugins, like Rank Math SEO to understand the language structure of your website and properly index the content on your sitemap. That's why checking the sitemap can indicate if WPML SEO is working properly or not.
