This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was experiencing issues with WPML not replicating designs correctly across translations, affecting page layouts, post types, and typography settings. Specifically, there were problems with 'concert' postcards not displaying correctly due to conditional logic based on term IDs, and global typography settings not being carried over in translations.

Solution:
1. We recommended comparing the original and translated versions of the 'concert' postcards to identify any discrepancies in settings or options.
2. We advised correcting the category ID for the English language postcard, as WPML does not automatically register the translated term ID used in Avada's conditional logic.
3. We confirmed that switching to the 'WordPress Editor' would require sticking with it, as switching back to the WPML Editor would necessitate re-translating the entire page.
4. For the Avada options, we provided a link to the documentation on using WPML with the Avada theme: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/using-wpml-with-the-avada-theme/#setting-theme-options
5. To address a critical error on a specific page, we suggested performing a backup, permanently deleting the English language page, and re-translating it from Dutch.

Hello? Can someone please help with this? It's been 10 days since asking for help and this has still not been resolved. This website was supposed to go live today.

So today I deleted all the old translations and re-did them in the WPML translator, but layouts are still not shown correctly. I'm talking missing images, columns, wrong typography, incorrect links, broken conditional logic etc. Please check the original language at: hidden link and the English translation at hidden link

Thanks for your patience.

I'm able to fix the homepage besides the missing images on the Upcoming Concerts hidden link . I will investigate this further.

Okay thank you. I just see so many issues on every single page, post type and layout. WPML is not replicating the designs correctly across translations anywhere and everywhere, which is why I don't think these are separate issues but there is one thing going wrong across the website. I would very much like to learn how I can fix this, so I can finally push this website live. Please let me know what I can do - if there is something wrong with my settings, for example.

Thank you for getting back to me.

It appears that certain hidden settings were not transferred to the translated pages, causing a disruption in the design. To resolve this, I've been comparing both languages to gain a better understanding of their creation and to identify any differences in options. This approach has been helpful in addressing some of the issues but it takes time.

If you have insights into how the "concert" postcards were originally created, perhaps you could take a look at the translated version? Once we rectify that, I will proceed to inspect your other pages to determine if there are any additional elements missing or in need of adjustment.

Wonderful, thank you! I can take you through each design issue one by one. I know where all the elements are located and where they originate from.

Indeed let's start with the concert post cards:
hidden link

You're seeing two versions of it, a horizontal version for desktop/tablet and a vertical, stacked version for mobile (see screenshot). Because Avada only let's you use conditional logic on columns (not elements) I've created columns that trigger on conditional logic such as: tickets sold out, tickets available, past concerts, etc.

The missing column (image + logo) is conditional on the basis of a term ID (concert>podia). I suspect the issue for the post card lies there, because Avada's conditional logic for terms is based on ID and WPML doesn't register the translation.

Then there also is the issue of typography not being carried over, eventhough this is set in the global Avada options: hidden link Global options>typography>heading typography

Thank you for your response.

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you over the weekend. I've reviewed the typography, and did you know that you can switch to another language using the language switcher located on the top bar? I've included a screenshot for your reference.

I will now delve deeper into the postcard issue and provide you with further information once I've completed my investigation.

Thanks for your patience.

You point me in the right direction, we need to correct the category ID for the English Language postcard as shown in this screen recording hidden link . Once it's corrected, it's fixed. Check out this link hidden link

Okay, clear. I might be able to fox everything else with this knowledge. I have a question about this, though: I was under the impression that, if you switch to the WordPress Editor to edit a language there, that you can't use the WPML editor anymore. This poses a problem because it would mean I have to repeat my edits in both languages any time I want to change a design - correct? That is the reason I prefer not to use the WordPress editor for translations.

About the typography issue, does that mean Avada options settings are not copied across languages? That seems a little strange... Is there a way to copy & sync all those settings across languages?

Thanks Kor! I will go ahead and try to fix everything else with this info. Will get back to you soon.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, that's correct. If you switch to "WordPress Editor", you will have to stick with that editor unless you want to re-translate the entire page using the WPML Editor.

As for the Avada options, you can refer here https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/using-wpml-with-the-avada-theme/#setting-theme-options

Ok, let me know how it goes.

But then this is a compatibility issue? I would rather not use the WordPress editor, of course.. is there a way to solve this? Either on WPML or Avada’s side?

Hi Kor, I was just working on trying to clean up the website. I thought of a way around the editor issue - because I would prefer to use the WPML advanced editor. This method worked for the concert post cards. I tried applying it to the artist archive post cards, but the same thing happened again, where the artist image disappears (see screenshots). I tried using the WordPress editor to see what was wrong, but I cannot find anything. Could you please walk me through the process of fixing it? I would like to learn myself, so I don't have to keep coming back for support.

Then I would also like to move on to the issues on the concert pages themselves. Here's an example: hidden link

You can find the concert layout here: hidden link

First, there is an error at the top, I have no idea why it's there. Second, the portret image in the right column (white) is missing. This is a simple post card that doesn't work in the English translation. It uses the same ACF as the artist archive card, so I suspect these issues are related.
The admin for this post card is here: hidden link

Thanks Kor! I'm really hoping we can fix this today, as I have a meeting to launch the website tomorrow!
