Hi Alejandro,

Thank you. The thing is, on our actual website we do not have duplicate glossary entries, but we do have the problem I reported. On the staging site you have access to, we have the reported problem and also the duplicate entries for some reason. So, I'm not sure how to proceed.

Either way, what is supposed to happen to existing translations after editing a glossary term? The behavior I'd expect is "nothing" 🙂 It should certainly not remove translations. But it shouldn't mark the source text as "changed" either, because it hasn't.

Hi, sorry for the delay.

We just released a fix for the issue, so if you resend the affected pages to translation you should see the translated strings again at no extra costs.

Could you please try and confirm it's fixed?

Hi Laura,

Thanks, I'm looking forward to that. I don't see the update in WordPress yet, when do you expect it to be available?

The fix is done in the translation editor, it's not a plugin release. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Thanks Laura. The update did not help and we're getting confusing results. Please allow me to reply privately so I can provide more details.

I'm not sure why it's posted publicly anyway. I removed my message until I can post privately.

We don't have an option to make just private replies, you need to add some information.

I don't think there was sensitive information in your reply, keep in mind links are visible just for you and WPML Supporters.

We'll also need access to your live site.

Yes, we also need access to the live site. That's because you're sharing the translation memory

Thanks, I'll have some dev check on the site directly. Since there might be more than one person working on the site I'd ask you to keep the 2FA disabled for now, I'll let you know when to reactivate it.

As for the other issues you report, they might very well linked to the same root so I wouldn't dig further for now. When the glossary issue is solved if you still have the problem I'll split the ticket and continue with a new one.

Hello,

can you test again and see if the issue still happens? Please be sure not to have any duplicated glossary entry before running this test.

If you still have the issue, can you please provide us with the URL you tested with?

Hi Laura,

On the stg site, there are now 4 duplicate glossary entries. What should I do? Randomly delete 3 of them?

Thanks,
Arno

If it's one entry repeated 4 times, yes, just delete 3 of them. If there are more, let me know and I'll report it to the team

Hi Laura,

Sorry, I counted wrong. It was 5 times, not 4. This morning that was still the case. We deleted 4 out of 5 glossary entries. Then checked the Advanced Translation Editor: no difference at all. Checked again with Object Cache Pro disabled, just to be sure that isn't the cause of this, but no difference.

That was on the staging site. We also checked the actual site: the glossary there now contains 4-5 duplicates for about all terms, expect the one that was the original problem, that's still 1 entry! No difference in the Advanced Translation Editor either. What will happen to the translations when we clear that all up, eventually? (I won't do that now)

We really need this solved quickly. Since you have accounts in our sites, please check our staging to see if the fixes on your end have worked. I assume you see the same problem when logging in, right?

Thanks,
Arno
