Hello

I want to setup different domains per language. I'm following this documentation.
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/

I see i need to set up a domain alias. Problem is, cppanel is not letting me install SSL o domain aliases. I can only add it to parked domains. Will that work too?

Hi there.

I'm afraid I am not that familiar with Cpanel's way of doing things.

In Apache web server they are called "Server Alias", but each hosting application calls it something different.

In the end, what you need is that both domains point to the same site.

If you can't figure this out, I recommend that you ask for help from your hosting provider as they should be able to assist with things like this.

You can also share our documentation link with them, too:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/

Hopefully, things will get sorted out.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei

Hi there and welcome back.

Thank you for the update.

Unfortunately, we can't help with the hosting and domain setup part.

The documentation that is available should be more than enough for good hosting support to understand what needs to be done and implement it for the customer.

I wish I could have done more about this but we are not allowed to touch customers' hosting/domain panels and helping with domain setup is not part of our Support Policy.

It works now thank you.

One more questions. Can wpml now take care of all 301 redirects or must I deal with that manually?

Hi there.

I am happy to hear that the initially reported issue has been resolved.

Per our Support Policy, we can handle only one issue/topic per ticket.

Continuing with one issue per ticket helps not only supporters to focus on one issue at once but also enables other users to find solutions to their questions faster.

I created a new ticket for you in regard to the new issue here:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-can-wpml-take-care-of-all-301-redirects-or-must-i-deal-with-that-manually/

You will be notified via email when there's an answer to that ticket, too.

Also, can you please mark this current ticket as resolved?

Thank you.

Mihai
