Questions:
How can we get the edit pencils back to continue making adjustments to the translations?
Thank you for contacting WPML support.
While you are waiting for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with the first debugging steps or if I can help with the issue quickly.
Are there any errors in the debug.log?
Please follow the instructions mentioned on this page: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/debugging-wpml/
Then, try to reproduce the issue and check the **wp-content** folder of your installation to see if a file named **"debug.log"** was created (it will only be generated if a server error occurs).
If the file was created, please upload it to a platform like **Google Drive** or **Dropbox** (whichever you usually use) and share the link with me (make sure it is publicly accessible) so we can analyze it.
Finally, I suggest you try this to help us identify if it might be a conflict with another plugin or theme that is causing the problem.
**IMPORTANT:** Please try this in a staging environment or at least with a backup of your site files and database before continuing.
Disable all plugins except WPML-related and temporarily change the theme to a default WordPress such as Twenty Twenty-five.
With these settings, is the issue resolved?
Please update your WPML plugin and add-ons to the latest version, 4.7.1, to benefit from the latest bug fixes and improvements. This may not necessarily resolve your problem; however, we need to work on the newest code available to troubleshoot the issue best.
You can check the latest released versions under "My Account -> Downloads" on this site. Instructions to update can be found here: http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/
If you do not see the updates, you might need to click the Check for updates button in the Plugins → Add New Plugin → Commercial tab.
Let know me if the issue continues after performing the update. If it does, I suggest temporarily deactivating all plugins except WPML and then checking the issue again.
Please remember to backup your database before you proceed.
Is it possible to conduct a test using only WPML? If that’s not feasible, could you send me a copy of your site instead? You will need to temporarily install either the "Duplicator" or "All In One Migration" plugin. This will enable you to create a copy of your site and its content. Once you've done that, please provide the snapshot and send me the zipped package that you downloaded.
