I'm trying to copy an image from one translation to another using the fields:

"Duplicate uploaded media from original"
"Duplicate featured image from original"

Afterwards I can translate ALT texts but it's on the same image. It hasn't mad a copy of the image (e.g. image.jpg to image-copy.jpg)

Am I doing something wrong or is it the way it's supposed to be?

Hello,

thanks for contacting us.

Yes, that is correct WPML doesn’t duplicate any files on your site. Duplication here means that new entries are created in the database with your translated image captions, titles, meta text, and other information.

Make sure the mentioned checkboxes are selected on your default language page, and then when you translated you can add 2nd language / translated image texts.

I hope I was helpful. Don't hesitate to ask if you find any problem along the way, I'll gladly help you.

Regards,
