I am trying to: Add the language switcher

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: drop down menu with languages

Instead, I got: The other languages are visible and listed in other sub-menu and are visible all the time.
In this page hidden link

are visible all languages all the time even though the page isn't translated to any yet.
I want to have nice drop down menu. What to do?

Hi,

thanks for contacting us.

Did you by any chance created hidden link using ACF post type? If so,
1. we aren't officially compatible yet
2. you set acf-post-type to "fallback to the default language" in WPML > Settings > Post type translation, which would explain why you see all languages listed.

As for the dropdown, please be sure your theme supports it. You can test with a default theme, if you don't have problems with it you should contact your theme's support.

Hi,

I haven't used ACF for those pages at all.

And the theme supports the drop down menu.

I used your plugin in other website and this is the first time the menu is acting like this.

Hello,

Thank you for the updates. The main navigation of the site is *Main Menu*. But in WPML>>Languages>>Menu language switcher section you have assigned the WPML Menu Language switcher to the footer menu *l s*.

So changing the menu name in WPML>>Languages>>Menu language switcher settings has fixed the issue. Please check the attached images and the following URL for more details.

Hello,

This doesn't fix my problem because I don't want my language switcher in the main menu. I need it in other menu and the only other option I had was the footer menu. I need it to be shown on different parts of the website - next to the main menu and in the footer.
So what you did is not a solution.

What else we can do?

Hello,

Thank you for the updates. In this case, you consider a custom Language switcher. Please refer to the following documentation for more details.

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/adding-language-switchers-using-php-and-shortcodes/

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/custom-language-switcher/

If the problem remains, please share a couple of screenshots for a better understanding of the issue.
