If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
1. In Appearnce -> Menu Add Language switicher to menu option is not available. In WPML -> Languages -> Language switcher to NAvigation menu is already set but its not visible in the frontend header.
Plus, in my previous screnshot you can see in "Translation Dashboard" Navigation is not visible.
2. In Language URL format What should I add in What to show for the root url-> HTML file – Please enter a path – absolute or relative – to the WordPress installation folder....?
1.- It is good to hear that this issue is already solved 🙂
2.- The menus don't appear in the Translation Dashboard. To translate the menus, you need to go to Appearance -> Menus -> Click on the plus (+) icon to add the translation to the secondary language.
3.- Please edit the About Us page in English -> Make a small change in the content -> Save the changes and update the translation. Then double-check if the translation appears correctly in pt-pt
To translate the footer, you need to go to WPML -> Settings -> Post type translation -> Search for the templates and set them as translatable -> Save the changes, and then go to WPML -> Translation Dashboard, where you will find a new section to translate the templates.
4.- These don't seem to be the Elementor templates in WPML -> Settings -> Post type translation. I think the Elementor templates are at the end of the table.
As the original issues are solved, and the additional issues are solved, I'm splitting this ticket to address the 6th and 7th problems separately. I will also set this ticket as solved. This way we will be following our forum guideline of solving one issue at a time (although we already solved more than one 🙂 )
