i there, i have a website merchshark.dk and now i just got the new domain merchshark.se - On the new Domain .se i want it to be swedish by default. How do i do that? And how do i make sure the urls get translated aswell on the domain level and not /se/ ?
The new website merchshark.se has its own application and is only meant for swedish traffic. I dont want multilanguage for this site.
azadH :
The only thing i want is for the wpml plugin to translate the site from danish to swedish. I only want one version and not two to switch between.

Is that possible?

Hi Azad,

Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.

According to the chat session, I understand that:
- You have the content on the site merchshark.dk in Danish language
- You want to translate the content to the Swedish language and the translated content is saved to the site merchshark.se which is a different installation of WordPress (Its not a multisite, it is two different applications)

I'm afraid that it is beyond the scope of WPML work. WPML can translate the content on your site and save the translation to the database in a single WordPress installation.

I suggest you can try to install WPML on two sites, and use the plugin WP All Export, WP All Import to export and import content between your sites. Please follow the documentation
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/export-multilingual-websites-using-wp-all-export-wpml/
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-all-import-plugin-website-import-with-wpml/

Or maybe this can be achieved using custom programming. At this point, I would suggest checking with one of our certified contractors from this link: https://wpml.org/contractors/

I hope I was helpful. Don't hesitate to ask if you find any problem along the way, I'll gladly help you.

Alright, then i need to cancel my subscription. Can you please help me with that so i also can get a refund?

I thought the system would allow two different installations.

The other way you described is very timeconsuming.

Do you have any ideas of what else i can do or use of other plugins? I need this done in an easy way.

Hi,

Our 2nd tier support also suggests using WP All Export and WP All Import to export and import content for a specific language on your site. It might take time but there isn't an easier way to transfer only translation content to a second installation of WordPress.

Let me know if you have any questions.
