Hi, I am trying trying to set up different sub domains per languages: Both domains are online, with https and https:// enforce is activated (siteground hosting). English domainname is not accepted (see screenshot). I am not sure if it is normal that http is set as prefix. Just a thought; should I activate 'multisite' for it to work? If so, how do I activate this? Thanks, |

Hello there Thank you for contacting us. I am happy to help you. Setting up Language per domain is actually a 95% configured from your side and 5% from WPML. Please read our guide here : You need to setup correctly all your domains and in the last step, you just define which domain is per language. In our guide also there are some tests that you can do in order to ensure that you setup your domains. In WPML there is also a validation but have in mind that if the other tests are working ok and the validation is not, then you can skip it and continue. I hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes or if you need any further assistance. I'll gladly help you. 🙂 Regards, |

Quick question. Earlier this morning Siteground the hosting provider did write this: "Indeed, now you should be creating the multisite infrastructure from within the WordPress admin itself" as answer op my question: So if I understand correctly I can start creating the website on the klm-huisjes subdomain and no further assistance from your side is needed? Going over this conversation the part "multisite infrastructure from within the WordPress admin itself" got my attention. Could it be that Siteground wants me to set it up as a multisite, while I did ask them (as suggested in your documentation) to have the klm-houses subdomain be pointed to the klm-huisjes (main)subdomain? Thanks, |

Hello again I think there is a misunderstanding and it is good to clear things. It is a different thing to setup a multisite ( https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/create-a-network/ ) and a different thing to set up domains per language with wpml. May I ask you to tell me exactly what you need? Regards, |

Hi, The mistake was with the hosting provider. They did not do what I did ask them to do. I have just finished 'pointing' the EN subdomain to the NL (main) subdomain using a symbolic link and was finally able to set up WPML correctly. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Margriet |

Ok sure so now we are in the step that you need to setup domain per language for your site You can read again my message here : And if you have any issues you can share them with me. In general please read the documentation very carefully, it has also some tests that you can do in order to understand if you set up your domains correctly because enable WPML settings. Regards, |
