I'm working with the theme Uncode. Primary language is German, second language is English.
When translating pages to English some buttons from the WPBakery Page Builder won't show up in the WPML translation editor at all. Or only the title, but not the link can be translated.

See screenshot: hidden link

I already read about this in the following thread:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/uncode-and-wpbakery-links-issue/

But after adding the XML code, nothing changed.
Can you please help out?

Hi there,

Good afternoon!

To assist you better, could you please tell me which WPBakery button widget/extension you've used on the page? I suggest adding the button to a new page and trying the XML code you've attempted again. Then, try translating the page and let me know if the Button text and link appear for translation.

If you're still experiencing the same issue, please let me know so I can further investigate. In the meantime, you may want to follow the WPBakery translation guideline here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/maintaining-wpbakery-page-builder-compatibility-with-wpml/

I hope this information is helpful! If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Warm regards,
Faisal

Dear Faisal,
thanks for the quick reply.

After I added the XML Code, I continued to test with a new page. In the newly created page, I added two buttons from the WPBakery Page Builder. See screenshot 01: hidden link

When translating the new page, the same problem occured. The buttons show up, but I can't translate the url. See screenshot 02: hidden link

It's weird because sometimes the button can be fully translated. Sometimes it only shows the title, and sometimes it does not even appear in the translation editor.

Can you please further investigate?

Thanks,
Dario

Hi Dario,

Good morning! I hope you're having a fantastic day.

Your XML code is working perfectly fine. When you use custom XML code to translate a button URL or link, the button URL won't be available in the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) by default.

You'll need to search for the URL within the ATE, and then the URL will appear for translation. You can check out this screen recording that shows how I've translated the two button URLs: hidden link

I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.

Best regards,
Faisal

Hey Faisal,

Good Evening 🙂 Thanks for your reply and the video.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to find any URL on my existing pages.
Can you please try again with the front-page "Home"?

Thanks,
Dario

Hi Dario,

Good morning!

If you use an internal link, which is a link from one page on your website to another page on your website, WPML will automatically translate the link if the content it's linking to is already translated.

For instance, if you link your "Contact Us" page from the homepage, and the "Contact Us" page is already translated, the URL for the "Contact Us" page will automatically translate from the homepage.

Additionally, you can manually adjust links in posts and strings to ensure they point to the translated content from the WPML settings. To do this, navigate to WPML > Settings > Translate Link Targets.

I hope this explanation helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,
Faisal

Thanks, Faisal, for the further explanations. I will follow up on this topic in about two weeks, as I'm now just before the launch date of another project. You'll hear from me, if I need further assistance. Regards, Dario
