Hi,

We need to replicate this issue on a fresh WordPress installation. Then, if needed, I'll be able to escalate it to our compatibility team. To achieve this, I created a test website with a clean WordPress installation. You can access it through this link:

hidden link

With this link, you'll be directly logged in.

Could you please install the Advanced Product Fields Addons plugin and see if the issue is replicable on a clean WordPress installation?

I already configured WPML to have German as the default language and English as the second language. Please configure WooCommerce as it is set on your site (just the basic configurations needed to replicate the issue are sufficient).

Please also make sure that you are installing the latest version of the plugin.

Please follow the guide at hidden link. When switching off WPML's Advanced Translation Editor, you must translate the products as described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/. This means you need to work with the WordPress editor.

When everything is finished and you can replicate the problem, please let us know.

Important! Do not import your site to the test site. We must replicate the problem on a fresh, clean WordPress installation.

Regards,
Itamar.

Can you test this too if you are taking a copy of the site? (As mentioned in the other support thread?)

Hi,

The best way would be to replicate this issue on the sandbox site. I can try to help further by testing it on a copy of your site, but it might take longer. As I'm unfamiliar with the Advanced Product Fields for WooCommerce plugin, could you please guide me through the steps to replicate the issue?

Regards,
Itamar.

sure I can guide you. Please create a random test product. And on the bottom of the page where the product data is you can find the "custom fields" tab .
There you can add some product options. Then try to translate the product

Hi,

Thanks for your instructions. I tested this issue on a copy of your site on my local server.

By following the manual translation method described in the following link, I was able to translate the fields.

https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

Please see the attached screenshot.

This method requires first duplicating the product into the secondary language and then translating it independently.

However, the fields are not showing on the translated product on the front end.
Does this problem also occur on your site?

Regards,
Itamar.

"nd then translating it independently." so you duplicated it first, and then how did you do the auto translation exactly?

Hi,

I didn't translate the product automatically. I manually translated it.

The point I was trying to stress is that the fields I created on the test product were showing in German. Please see the attached screenshot german-ok.jpg. But not in English. Please see the attached screenshot en-no-fields.jpg. So I'm asking you if that is what also happens on your site?

Please note that my weekend hours are Friday to Saturday. If you need further assistance, I'll be available to continue checking this issue and helping you next week.

Regards,
Itamar.

Hi,

Thanks for confirming this.

The Advanced Product Fields for WooCommerce by WebToffee is officially compatible with WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency.

https://wpml.org/plugin/advanced-product-fields-for-woocommerce/

However, we might be facing a new compatibility issue that has not yet been reported. We need to replicate this issue on a fresh WordPress installation. Then I'll be able to escalate it to our compatibility team. For this, I created a test website with a clean WordPress install. You can access it through this link:

With this link, you'll be directly logged in.

I've configured WPML to have German as the default language and English as the second language. I've also set up WooCommerce and added some sample products.

Could you please install the Advanced Product Fields for WooCommerce plugin and see if the issue is replicable on a clean WordPress installation?

Please also make sure that you are installing the latest version of the plugin.
When everything is finished and you can replicate the problem, please let us know.

Important! Do not import your site to the test site. We must replicate the problem on a fresh, clean WordPress installation.

Itamar.

Hi Itamar,

I installed the plugin but cant use it as it asks to enter the license key
"Fields — Add custom fields to this group.
Thank you for installing our plugin. Please activate your license first."

Please also note, this is not a plugin by web toffee, but this one https://wpml.org/de/plugin/advanced-product-fields-for-woocommerce/

Hi,

Thanks for installing the plugin on the sandbox site.

I couldn't find a license for this plugin. I've sent a message to our compatibility team asking them if they have a license code for it.

I'll update you once I have their reply.

P.S. I'm sorry, it was my mistake. The plugin is by Wombat. However, it is the plugin I referred to. I just got the author wrong.

Regards,
Itamar.

Hi,

Unfortunately, we don't have a license for the Advanced Product Fields for WooCommerce plugin. Please get in touch with Studio Wombat, the authors, if this plugin and ask for their cooperation with this issue. They manage the compatibility with WPML. They should be able to help. You can share this thread with them and the access to the sandbox site so they will activate the plugin. Then our compatibility team will be able to continue to check this problem.

Thanks,
Itamar.
