"2. Make sure you are using WPML Media and your image has a title and this title is translated via WPML media" My image has a title but it is not shown in the translation editor. What could be done about that? |

Hello, have you enabled the translation of the text? 3. In WPML Settings, make sure that option Translate media library texts with posts is enabled Regards, |

Thanks. After enabling Translate media library texts with posts, the workaround seem to work. Though I would prefer to have this disabled since this is clutter for our editors. We mostly use decorative images. In the case they need an alt text I can manage that from the dashbaord. Is it possible to give this bug higher priority in the development queue since it is not just applicable to large image files and the workaround will be overwritten by updates? |

Hello, thanks for confirming and getting back. Sure, it is already prioritized, for now, both fixes are scheduled for the next version, WPML 4.6.4. I will update you when I have more news. Kind regards, |

I got the 4.6.4 update now. It looks like cropping is only propagated for smaller images. For example a jpeg that is 1024 px wide works fine. A larger image that is 1920 px wide will not have its cropping propagated to translations. The old workaround of deleting the translated media, then regenerating media translation from WPML Settings still work, but is not a workable solution for editors. Please note that 1920 is less than WordPress' default big_image_size_threshold of 2560 so this image does not get the -scaled suffix. |

Does that mean that the fix is in the queue or that it is actively being worked on? Any ETA? The last release took 3 months. In that time this ticket will be a year old. |

Hello, I am afraid I can not share ETA, as things can change as happened for previous versions. Currently, 4.6.5 is being rolled out and our devs are / will be further working on the 4.6.6 version which should include a permanent fix for your issue. I understand your point here, but sometimes these kinds of things and priorities take time before are included in published versions. For now, I suggest using the workaround as mentioned, and I will update you when i have some news. Regards, |

Hello, I am afraid not, we have had different priorities, and it was delayed for future versions. I will update you once the version with a permanent fix is out, for now sometimes in WPML 4.7. Regards, |

Any idea if and when this can be fixed at all? The ticket is a year old and the fix keeps getting postponed. Does anyone on the developers team have any ideas about the causes and/or how to fix it? |

Hello, this will be fixed, our team is aware and the issue was confirmed and debugged. Just a permanent fix is a bit complex and not on the priority list for now. In the meantime, you can use the workaround we shared with you that we both confirmed it works fine and I will update you once the version with the fix is out. Until then, I am afraid there are not many updates or changes from our side that I can share with you. Regards, |

I assume that since the code change in the workaround has not been included in a release, there are issues with it. Anything I should be aware of? |
