Tell us what you are trying to do?
When translating a new post, I always have to tick all images, that I want to translate. Is there a way to set up WPML so that we don't have to tick all images but that they are checked by default?

Is there any documentation that you are following?
I am talking about this: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/?utm_source=plugin&utm_medium=gui&utm_campaign=wpmlcore#:~:text=Go%20to%20WPML%20%E2%86%92%20Translation%20Management%20to%20send%20your%20content%20for%20translation.%20There%2C%20when%20you%20choose%20any%20content%20that%20has%20media%20files%2C%20you%20will%20see%20a%20list%20of%20the%20attached%20media.%20Select%20all%20the%20images%20for%20which%20you%20want%20to%20use%20different%20images%20in%20other%20languages%20and%20send%20the%20content%20for%20translation.

Is there a similar example that we can see?

Hello there

Thank you for contacting us. I am happy to help you.

If you wish to translate images, that mean to have different images per language , then you need to check the images.

If the images are the same in all languages, then you don't need to check the images.

By default, images are the same in all languages.

I hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes or if you need any further assistance. I'll gladly help you. 🙂

Regards,
Andreas

Hi Andreas!
Thanks for your reply. However, every image in a post (featured image and images in the content) have captions that need a translation.. So is it possible to check all images, maybe even via custom coding?

Andreas

Thank you for the clarification.

By design, you need to select which images that you wish to will be translated.

Custom code is an option. This specific menu is based on Javascript, so maybe you can create a code that will be activated when you click the select post and it will check all images.

But it is out of the scope of this forum to give support to custom code, but I have shared an easy algorithm in order to give it a try.

Andreas

Sorry, I don't fully understand: What kind of algorithm did you share and where?

Thank you for your reply and my apologies if I didn't mention correctly what I shared with you.

In my previous post, I shared with you a possible algorithm. That means that I have shared with you what steps you need to do in order to create your own code and implement what you need.

As I mention I cannot share custom code with you because it is out of the scope of this support.

If you are not able to accomplish this, you could also try to hire a WPML contractor (https://wpml.org/contractors/)

Also, I found another workaround for you that another collogue shared :

Last but not least I have forward your feature request to out developer team.

I hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes or if you need any further assistance. I'll gladly help you. 🙂

Regards,
Andreas

Ah, thank you very much! Sorry, but I can't see the hint in the other support forum, for me, it says "As a possible workaround, you can consider using browser addon such as hidden link or similar."

Would you mind sharing the link with me?

Of course I can, with pleasure.

Here it is :

As a possible workaround, you can consider using a browser addon such as hidden link or similar.
