[Resolved] Translated page shows original (not translated) text
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client translated an Italian page into English using WPML, but the translated page still displays the original Italian text. This issue arises because the WPBakery widgets used on the page are not officially compatible with WPML, preventing some parts from being available for translation. Solution: We added custom XML configuration to WPML > Settings to register the WPBakery widgets for translation. Here is the code we used:
We recommend contacting the theme author to request their participation in our Go Global program for better compatibility. Additionally, follow our guide on using different translation editors for manual adjustments or to add compatibility code for other widgets.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, please check related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. We highly recommend opening a new support ticket for further assistance at WPML support forum.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Background of the issue:
I translated an Italian page into English. The website's main language is English, but for this page, the Italian version was created and then translated into English. According to WPML, the translation from Italian to English is 100% completed and correct. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link.
Symptoms:
I expect to see the text in English, but instead, I see the original text in Italian, which is the same as hidden link.
Questions:
Why is the translated page showing the original Italian text instead of English?
How can I ensure the translated page displays the correct English text?
Thank you for contacting the support. Meanwhile this ticket is attended by one of my colleagues, may I ask if this is happening only to this page or any other page in your site as well? Although I can only find the home page other than this which looks fine.
Can you please try creating another page or post by the same method and see if the same issue happens?
Please let us know and we'll try our best to help you further on the matter.
I checked further, and the page is translating fine. The issue is you are using WPBakery widgets from the theme that is not officially compatible with WPML, so some parts are not even showing for translation.
Following the next guide I have added the next code to WPML > Settings > Custom XML
Hi Drazen,
unfortunately your reply doesn't help me witht he problem.
Furthermore the only page i have this problem is hidden link.
The homepage and the text page are correctly translated, although some widgets might be missing.
The problem with the page mentioned above is that the english version of the page is NOT displayed when I go to the english version of the page: hidden link
