WooCommerce Attribute Swatch not showing

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

After installing WPML and setting up translations we found, that our swatches at product attributes have been gone.

Solution:

The user reported:

I set Text swatch for all options in german and english and it works like a charm!

franzP-9	After installing WPML and setting up translations we found, that our swatches at product attributes have been gone. When googling around I found that color swatches will re-appear when following this guide https://wpml.org/forums/topic/variation-swatches-for-the-second-language-is-blank/ Unfortunatelly I was not able to repeat this guide for attribute size - it is still being shown as dropdown.

franzP-9	see uploaded screenshots of attributes, attribute size I've also uploaded a screen of WPML Settings for user defined meta, which I used to set "color" to "copy" - that worked for my color attribute swatches. still don't know what to do to make my size attribute showing up as swatches, too if you need credentials let me know.

You can try to search for the custom field "size" and set it to "Copy" as the field "color". And follow some steps below to troubleshoot the issue: 1. Translate the attribute "size" by following the documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/#taxonomies 2. Make a small change to the product title/content > Save changes > Update the translation. 3. If it does not work, please go to WooCommerce > WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency > Settings > Troubleshooting > Enable "Sync products variations" > Click "Start". Look forward to your reply. franzP-9	Thanks for your reply. I tried all of your steps but had no success. 1. I did struggle with very first hint. There is no attribute "size" as mentioned before.. 2. did so - had no effect 3. did so - had no effect

It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated. Then I set a color (purple) > Save and the size attribute in the frontend display as swatch correctly, please check this screenshot hidden link For other sizes, please go to Products > Attributes > Größe > Edit a size > Set color in the option Color Swatch.
