I am trying to: add a new page translation

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: My translation options

Instead, I got: Looks like this site was previously at hidden link and now it’s at hidden link. BUT nothing has changed from our side.

Hello!

This usually happens when the domains are not correctly setup or are new. since it seems the migration is picking up the IP instead of the domain.

1) Please check settings > General and make sure no IP is written in any of the URLs shown in that page

2) You can select "yes" for now and then let us know so we make a few arrangements on our end as well

Let me know how it goes so i can continue.

Hi,

the settings seems to be fine so I proceded to go with the "yes" option but now its requesting a migration code (images attached).

This error is showing up since SEPTEMBER 7 but yesterday (September 10) we made an update on domain and now I can't find the requested migration code.

In order to share credits, you need to have 2 sites running, one with credits and one without. the one with the migration banner is the one without, i presume, correct?

If that's the case, then you can use this guide to understand how to move forward: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-subscription-for-multiple-sites/

That should keep both sites connected, sharing the credits but at the same time allowing you to have them both working at the same time.

By the way, you shared 2 screenshots but were they from 2 different sites or the same site? because that would probably affect my steps from above as well. if they were 2 different sites, then could you allow me access to both of them and tell me which is the "main" site from the two?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Interesting. I kindly ask you to grant me access to the wp-admin area of your website so i can try to solve the problem because it seems that at one point one of the domains got saved as an IP on your site and created the issue.

I have enabled the necessary fields on my end so you can provide them to me in a secure and private manner. This way, only the two of us will be able to view them.

If possible and for your safety, i'd suggest you create a new user (a fake one with a fake mail) that you can later delete when the ticket is closed.

The problem should be solved now. i think the problem here happened because you were not covering our minimum requirement of 128M of memory:

Kindly add this code into your wp-config.php file, right after the database information:

define ('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');
define ('WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');

Apart from that i had to make a few changes on our end to make things work but all is fine now 🙂

Thank you Alejandro,

I did the memory limit update to 256M as you requested but I'm getting this message on the plugins section (image attached).

The banner on the last screenshot you sent me is not linked to the first one. this one is about the site not being correctly licensed. the initial one was about migrating the site, so it makes sense you had both of them.

To fix this issue now all you have to do is follow these 2 parts of the same guide:

- First make sure you delete the domain of your site (where the banner is showing) if it exists: https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#unregister

- Lastly register it in this way: https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#register

That should do it 🙂

Hi Alejandro, I followed both steps but the problem seems to still be there (attached images), the admin account is still active in case you want to check it.

Can you please allow me to access your site and try to register the site using my account to see if something changes? i'll also check if there's a proper connection made to our servers so i can understand why the problem persists, but this issue is different from the first one (the migration banner) so i'll split the ticket after your next answer since we can only handle one issue at a time per ticket.

Regards.

Hi Alejandro,

sure, go ahead, do you need my to create you another WordPress account or is the old one enough? (is still active)

Please check this video: hidden link

The problem here is that you don't have a stable configuration when it comes to your domains. sometimes it's the IP that triggered the banner, sometimes it's an HTTP version of your site, sometimes it's the HTTPS version (the correct version) so that's what's happening.

You're currently using my license, and things "kind of" work, but they will stop working sometimes because of this discrepancy.

Please talk to your hosting about this because the issue you have is highly unusual and it seems to be handled by your server (or whoever created the site for you, if it was created in a particular way).

Regards.
