This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

I get WPML.org cannot connect error on my website and I re-registered the website without success.

Solution:

- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting (link).
- Click the buttons below:

* Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE
* Synchronize local job ids with ATE jobs

Tell us what you are trying to do?

1- Go to your account page (https://wpml.org/account/sites/)
2- Delete the key for the site
3- Go to plugins-> Add new-> Commercial tab
4- Click on "Unregister WPML from this site"
5- Click on "Register WPML"
6- Click on "Get a key for this site" (Kindly check the attached screenshot)
7- Register the site and enter the key

Hi there,

It seems that you follow the steps you mentioned and you still have registration issue.

I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.

Make sure you set the next reply as private.

I will try to test with my key and see if it works or it is some sort of communication issue within the site and wpml.org.

Hi there,

Thank you for the login information. You did register WPML correctly and there was no need to change anything.

I refreshed the communication from the troubleshooting section WPML support menu and it worked and there is no connection error anymore.
