Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with the URL of translated posts not matching the new content after cloning and translating an original post. The translated post retains the URL of the original post instead of reflecting the new cloned content.
Solution:
We recommend the following steps depending on the translation method used:
1. If using the manual method and editing content directly in the second language via the WordPress editor, adjust the URL/slug manually from the same screen inside the WordPress edit screen, as you would do in the default language. 2. If using the WPML editor or automatic translation, ensure that the slug/URL settings in WPML are configured to auto-generate from the title. Make a small change to the default page, save it, and re-translate. Note that all changes done manually will be overwritten when you re-translate via the WPML editor or automatic translation.
