I noticed a post type wasn't translatable so I changed it in the custom post type translation settings. Than I translated some strings, but now I cannot open any of my translated pages due to too much redirects. I checked and I get 19 redirects on hidden link for example.

I looks like most of my custom post types are unavailable. I cannot open brands or news, but I can open downloads..

I emptied the WPML cache but that didn't work. How can I fix this?

I see it all happens when changing: 'Post types (acf-post-type)' to translatable (all items). I changed it because I need to translate a H1 for the news page. hidden link It is still called the Dutch title..

What can I do to fix this?

Hi Pyter,

Thank you for reaching out to WPML support. While you're waiting for one of my colleagues to handle this ticket, let me offer you some initial debugging steps to assist with the issue promptly.

The post type "acf-post-type" should not be set to Translatable, it is set to "Not Translatable" by default.

Regarding the page header is still in the Dutch language "Actueel", I see the archive page is built with Avada Fusion builder. You can edit the layout, check the archive page header and re-translate the layout to see if helps.

Refer documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/using-wpml-with-the-avada-theme/

Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks

The issue is inside the dynamic 'Title'.. somehow I don't get it translated. But I changed the title to plain text. Now I can translate it!

But I still have an issue with the breadcrumbs.. the shown post type is still called: actueel.. I tried everything to get this translated into English or one of the other languages..

Does it have to do something with this thread: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/some-rankmath-seo-titles-cant-be-translated/?

I dont have any options in the custom term meta translations, I have no options whatsoever to translate the archive titles..

Hello there,

In most cases the breadcrumbs should fetch the page translations, so can you check if the page title is translated properly?

Further, if the problem exists, I would like to take a closer look.

To debug this issue further, I would need to check your site settings once, for this I would need temporary access (wp-admin and ftp) to your site.

So could you please provide me with those details, you will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.

Hello there,

The post type is added using Advanced Custom Fields, hidden link

To translate Advanced custom fields with WPML properly, you will need to install Advanced Custom Fields Multilingual so can you please install it and then search for the labels in WPML->String Translations.

You can download the plugin from here: hidden link

Alright, in another ticket I had to delete something about ACFML. I reinstalled it and now I had two plugins.. I deleted the oldest version and activated the new one.

But this isn't solving my problem. There are no breadcrumb options in the translator. You send me the ACF 6.1 post types and taxonomies not translatable yet.. I have seen this problem earlier. When is there a solution? I have a newly build website and the customer will not accept Dutch post types on the English or whatever language.. This is something critical WPML should solve, especially because the origin is March 2023!

Hello there,

The label translations are solved in the latest version, please check this video: hidden link

I followed the steps and then when the labels were translated, it showed in breadcrumbs properly, you will need to clear the cache. hidden link

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks

Hi Shekhar,

Thank you for your explanation, this does translate the breadcrumbs thanks!
On the Academy pages I had the same problem, but somehow the German version keeps showing Dutch texts, while in the translation editor there is German added.. How is this possible?

Nevermind, I changed some things in the default Dutch version and then retranslated the German. Now it works
