Background of the issue:
I am trying to resolve multiple translation issues on my site hidden link using WPML with the Divi theme. I have previously implemented WPML on another website.

Symptoms:
The menu can't be edited due to an error: 'The theme you are currently using is not compatible with the Site Editor.' The widget section lacks an edit button. I am unable to skip some translations due to nested formatting tags error: 'The original text contains nested formatting tags (one tag inside another). Please nest the formatting markers in your translation in the same order.'

Questions:
How do I translate the widget section without an edit button?
Is there a way to skip translations that require overlapping formatting?

Hi,

In our technical support forum, we try to focus on one issue per ticket. Otherwise, tickets can become cluttered and confusing for both users and supporters.

Regarding the formatting issue, you need to ensure that the formatting is the same as in the original. You must select the exact words on the translated side, coloring them with the parent tag and then with the nested tag. You can not skip this.

https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/

If it does not work for you, please try this.

1. Open the translation editor.
2. Delete the existing translation for the problematic segment.
3. Use the option to copy the original content into the translation editor to ensure all tags are correctly copied.
4. Translate the text within the tags without altering or removing the tags themselves.

Regards,
Itamar.

Hello Itamar,

Sorry for the late reply and thank you.

I was able to find a workaround, but there is a new issue - 2 buttons on forms can't be found anywhere. "subscribe" word on MailPoet form and "submit" word on Divi contact form.

Perhaps, they are not named like that in the string translation section. Any advice on how can I find them (without going through all of the 489 entries manually)?

Best,
Aleks

Hi,

I'm glad that the original issue is solved now!

In our technical support forum, we focus on one issue per ticket. Otherwise, tickets can become cluttered and confusing for both users and supporters.

Please read the following guide on finding strings not in Strings Translation.

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/

If it does not help, please open a new ticket in our forum for this problem.

Thanks,
Itamar.
