This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client switched the default language of their site to Norwegian and is experiencing issues with translating taxonomies and custom settings that are essential for the checkout pages to function properly.
Solution:
We recommended the client to:
1) Ensure a full site backup is taken.
2) Update the Hotel Booking plugin to the latest version.
3) Update WPML to the latest version (4.6.10 series).
4) Visit Settings>>Permalinks in the WordPress dashboard and resave the settings.
5) Clear all types of caches on their site.
If the solution provided here is not relevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If issues persist, please open a new support ticket with us.

Tell us what you are trying to do? I have just switched the default language of my site to Norwegian, with English and German being the secondary languages. English was my default language previously, but there were some porblems with translating the taxonomies and URLs and such. I am having trouble translating the necessary taxonomies and custom settings that are essential for the checkout pages to work. It would be helpful to get some hands on support in the WP dashboard, in order to identify if there are some useful functionalities I have missed. Please inform me with any solutions that might be helpful with this issue. Is there any documentation that you are following? I have tried following WPML and MotoPress documentation, as well as using other forums and ChatGPT. Is there a similar example that we can see? Not that I know of. Hi, thanks for contacting us. First of all, you should update WPML since version 4.6.9 is not compatible with WordPress 6.5. You can do this in Plugin > Add new > Commercial tab Then, can you please explain what do you mean with "some porblems with translating the taxonomies and URLs and such. Hi. I will update the plugin. Thank you for pointing that out, but the issue arose long before the WordPress 6.5 update came into effect. I have attached an example of an incorrectly formatted URL, that is not translated properly. It seems that the the taxonomies, such as accommodation types, accommodation facilities, amenities and such have trouble translating correctly. There is also an issue with various being incorrectly translated, or perhaps incorrectly located, within the various URLs (/no, /en and /de for Norwegian, English and Deutsch). In the screenshot you can see an english word (accommodation) in the URL structure of a .no/no-address, which is supposed to be Norwegian translations only. Looking forward to your reply! |

Specially the following. Okay, thank you for your answer. Give me one day to create a full backup of my site. I can then set up a staging site that you'll get access to. Is it necessary with both WP-admin and FTP credentials? |

Hi Peder, WPML is configured correctly on the site. Now few of the posts translation is pending for review. Please check the attached image. So please try the following steps after a full site backup{mandatory} and make sure the issue is existing or not. 1) Upgrade to the latest version of Hotel Booking plugin One doubt. I am not able to navigate the URL mentioned in the screencast exactly from the site frontend. Therefore please share the exact steps you are following. It will be very helpful in tracking it.
