[Resolved] Editing product, page, or other translations increases CPU use beyond tolerance
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
Editing product, page, or other translations increases CPU use beyond tolerance
Solution:
IMPORTANT: Take full backup of your website and database beforehand. It is highly advised to try the following on a staging/dev site first, so your live website isn't compromised.
Tell us what you are trying to do?
Edit tranlslated versions of pages, posts, products, Divi theme builder layouts
Is there any documentation that you are following?
Nothing new here. This site has been using WPML for a long time, but has recently become extremely slow and unresponsive during translation.
Is there a similar example that we can see?
This is a repeatable problem, visible for the past week or longer.

Screenshot shows spike in CPU usage when editing in Hebrew translation.
If the performance in the second language improves significantly when you deactivate the String Translation plugin, please use one of the workarounds from the above errata.
Please let me know if this doesn't solve the problem for the time being.
Our developers are already working on a solution to the problem, which should be integrated into the upcoming updates to WPML and String Translation.
After following the instructions in the article, CPU usage is still very high and the site becomes extremely slow or unresponsive during editing translations.
support@wpml.org has been granted administrator access to a staging copy of the website at staging.jlmwines.com
We have discovered that disabling the Fibosearch plugin is required to prevent a conflict that causes failure to save translated content. Even with the Fibosearch plugin disabled, we are unable to make edits to translated content because of high CPU usage.
Please help us get past this inability to edit translated content, and the huge delays in displaying translated content. We trust WPML, and need support to get the site working again.
Our site is crippled by slow display of translated content. Editing translated content is nearly impossible. CPU usage is so high that our hosting service is threatening to close the account.
Your site says "Opening new tickets will increase your wait time. Our support system prioritizes clients with fewer tickets, so that we can respond quickly to everyone."
Why is there no response for close to 24 hours? The image uploaded shows the enormous CPU usage when editing translated content. This needs to be addressed!
Thank you for contacting the support. I am assigned this ticket and 'll try my best to help you on the matter. Please also accept our apologies for delay in response due to high load in support.
We've just released hotfix (beta) versions of WPML and String Translation, mainly focused on performance issues vs WordPress 6.3.
Can you please install these versions and retry? You can either do this from Plugins -> Add New -> Commercial and switch to Beta channel and install or can directly download from your https://wpml.org/account/downloads/ account (see attached).
