This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to translate your BetterDocs documentation from Danish to English, but you're facing an issue where headers such as H2, H3, and below are not visible on most translation pages, although they appear on some. Solution: We recommend two approaches to resolve this issue: 1) Modify the string format by removing the dot after the numeral in your headers. For example, change from (2.1. Økonomi) to (2.1 Økonomi). This adjustment should make the headers visible in the translation editor. 2) Utilize the search field in the translation editor to locate and translate these headers.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we encourage you to open a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I'm trying to translate my BetterDocs docs from Danish to English. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link.
Symptoms:
I expected to see H2, H3, and below on the translation page, but they are not visible for most posts. However, it worked on this one: hidden link.
Questions:
Why are the headers not showing up for translation on most posts?
Why does the translation work on some posts but not others?
Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you wait for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with the first debugging steps or see if I can help with the issue quickly.
I can see H2 and H3 titles on the page you sent as an example. Please see the attached screenshot. Design-wise, the English page looks the same as the original Danish page.
Have you solved this problem already?
If not, please elaborate on this problem and send us screenshots.
Not solved, we use some english terms in danish. The problem is still that WPML doesn't always find the headers. If you look at the table of contents, it's in danish. Looking at the WPML translation it does show some of the headers, but where I'd expect the "2.1. Økonomi" header from image 1 it doesn't appear. I've attached an extra image from BetterDocs, so you can see how it's setup. It should be a H2 header, so it clearly exists on the page, but WPML overlooks / doesn't find it.
It has happened on most of my docs, except the previous exception I linked, which I setup excatly like the rest. So I'm quite puzzled.
Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
