This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Sometimes, you may not be able to find the strings you're looking for in the String Translation table. How you translate them depends on the theme or plugin they're coming from, and how they were implemented in the theme or plugin.

For a list of commonly searched for strings and how to find them with video examples, see the page about finding strings that don't appear in String Translation.

Hello, I need some help to translate some strings of the plugin Ultimate Gift Cards For WooCommerce. I searched with the tool "strings translation" but I could not find them. So I scanned also the plugins but I still can't find them. This is the product to translate into Spanish where you can see that some words are already translated into Spanish and some words are still in English:

Hi there.

Before this ticket gets assigned to my colleagues, I will try to help.

The proper way to translate strings depends a lot on how they have been implemented inside the theme/plugin.

Sometimes, there are even duplicates of the same string and only one of them is the correct one that needs to be translated.

Also, sometimes, simply removing the string (checking the box and removing it) and then re-registering it again by scanning for it (one of the methods below) and re-translating it resolves the issue.

1. Please try this:

Go to WPML > String Translation and at the bottom of the page you will find a checkbox called "Look for strings while pages are rendered". You can enable (check) that and then go in the front end to a page where you have that string showing up and then go back to WPML > String Translation and search for that string and see if it now shows up.

2. If you can't find them inside the WPML > String Translation, they might be added as admin text.

This should be the normal process to find and translate admin text strings:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/

Please let us know how that goes.

Kind regards,

Thanks a lot, I was able to translate the strings with the method 1 you described. The only thing that I could not translate is the button "ADD TO CART". I looked for all strings containing it and translated them but it did not work.
Can you please help?

Hi there,

Good afternoon! I hope you had a great weekend.

I suggest scanning the activated Theme (both parent and child) and WooCommerce plugins such as (WooCommerce Single Product Page Builder, WPBakery Page Builder, TheGem Blocks, and TheGem Theme Elements (for WPBakery) to find the "ADD TO CART" string.

After translating the string, clear the cache, check from the frontend, and let me know if it works.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Best regards,
Faisal
